nslatin Posted August 10, 2021 #277 Share Posted August 10, 2021 Ship - Vista Deck - 2 Stateroom # - 2367 Stateroom Category – Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes. This cabin is just under the front of the galley but we did not hear anything from above. There is a storage space on one side so you do not have neighbor on that side. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – The view was a typical Cove balcony. Lifeboats above, blocking the sun but nothing else. Unobstructed views forward, aft and down to the water. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal cove balcony. Was wind a problem? - No. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - None. Any other comments? - This cabin is steps from the mid-ship elevators for easy access to Reflections dining room on deck 3, Vista Casino on deck 4 and Marketplace Buffet on deck 10.
Rare KmomChicago Posted September 3, 2021 #278 Share Posted September 3, 2021 Ship - MARDI GRAS Deck - 5 Stateroom # - 5-364 Stateroom Category – Premium Interior Starboard or Port Side - Port side access but actually in the dead center of the ship left to right. Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yeah, real quiet in spite of being directly below Grand Central. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Nope Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – The view was what you get on the large, flat screen room TV from the deck cameras. Everybody gets that, but you know what? It was basically a virtual window and actually a nice touch we enjoyed quite a bit. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - While our room of course had no balcony, the indoor layout was the same as a standard balcony cabin as far as bed and flip couch and desk and closets and bathroom, but of course with just a solid dark wall where the balcony door would be. Was wind a problem? - hahaha. No. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - Not aft and this ship is LNG, baby! So I don't think there will ever be any soot for anyone. Any specific problems with this cabin? - It's not a problem per se, but this room is almost exactly midway between the forward and midship elevators and that's a fair amount of territory to cover. It's also sort of hard to find, on an interior hallway that is off another interior hallway. On the other hand it feels very private back there and dead silent, as only a small number of passengers share that space, and you do not have another cabin door across the hall from you (their room doors face the main hallway on the other side of their rooms). Any other comments? - For the small upcharge from a standard interior to this premium interior (there are only about 40 of these on Mardi Gras) I think it was a good value on a ship that carries a bit of a premium price tag due to its size, age, and amenities. It was cool and comfortable; we slept well and got used to the location quickly.

Outstanding clear view of the wide open seas. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal for class. Just big enough for 2 people and a couple of chairs with a small table. Was wind a problem? - Nope, not at all. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - No problems whatsoever, it was great. Any other comments? - Outstanding cabin, the spa features were fabulous. If you like the spa, then this is a great choice for you. We took advantage of the thermal rooms and thalassotherapy pool daily. It was probably the most relaxing vacation we've ever had due to the amount of time we spent in those areas.

Pro: location is quiet and convenient Cons: BIG step down from the bathroom. Bed is in the corner against a wall and my arms hit the wall every time i turned over. TV as far away as possible. I couldnt see some things. It's in a alcove next to bathroom. Bathroom step down is 6 or 7 inches.
firefly333 Posted November 5, 2021 #282 Share Posted November 5, 2021 Carnival breeze, cabin 2428 Category, deluxe ov? 2 bathrooms??!! Do you need a bathtub? 4 closets? Holds 3 pax. Unique cabin. We hit some major winds on this cruise so I added the view of the waves. 2nd bathroom, tub is also a shower, so I took pictures of all the shower controls. First bathroom is just your typical carnival bathroom. Awesome cabin though some engine noise. Who knew there were regular cabins with 2 bathrooms. No bunk beds. Sofa holds a 3rd pax. Longer hallway than the normal.

(With comments on problems) – For the most part, yes. Only once or twice did we hear the performers practicing in the Victoriana Lounge (decks 3-5). And only because we happened to be in the room. It did not interrupt our sleeping. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – No obstructions. View was nice. Enough room for 2 chairs and a small table. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal size balcony Was wind a problem? - Only if we had the balcony door and the room door open at the same time. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - Room did not seem to get very cool. Not a problem for us but when we had friends visiting in our room, it was a bit warm for them - even on the coldest setting. They were a couple doors down and had the same issue. Ended up asking for a fan to be brought into their room. Any other comments? - Water pressure in the shower was fantastic. Step up and into the bathroom (probably 6 or 7 inches). Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes, but it wasn't an issue. Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Standard balcony view. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - normal for class Was wind a problem? - no, except for the noise issue If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - Any specific problems with this cabin? - Already noted Any other comments? - We chose this cabin because it was close to the midship elevators and easy to get to. (With comments on problems) – Nice and quiet except when they are testing the lifeboats (in port only, of course) Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – You look up to the bottom of the life boats but otherwise a beautiful, unobstructed view. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal Was wind a problem? - No but what a lovely breeze. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - Any specific problems with this cabin? - Be sure to check with guest services about the lifeboat maintenance schedule soon after getting to your room. My hubs and I were relaxing one morning when we were suddenly showered with water from the hoses washing down the lifeboats above. It was quite the shocker. No real harm was done but when we called to make sure we knew when not to be out there, they were very apologetic and offered laundry services, called twice more to check on us to make sure everything was ok, sent an officer to check on us and then sent us a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. We were impressed. Any other comments? - Great cabin. We had 4 people and it was crowded with the couch bed set up and pullman down but still comfortable. The balcony was nice but not well maintained and kind of beat up. As long as you are looking out to the water its perfect. Close to the water so the breeze and sound of the water was very relaxing and getting a front row seat to lifeboat testing and pilot transfers was kinda fun. We would book this cabin again. ultrafighter Posted February 4, 2022 #289 Share Posted February 4, 2022 Meant do do this after returning in November... Ship - Breeze Deck - 6 Stateroom # - 6465 Stateroom Category – 8A Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – NOT AT ALL!! The piano bar was almost directly underneath us, and it was loud every night. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes, but we didn't need to use that. Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – There were no obstructions, but it was at the end of the balconies that are directly above the deck 5 promenade outside so those folks walking below us could see into our balcony if they looked up. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - normal Was wind a problem? - no If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a Any specific problems with this cabin? - none with the cabin itself, but in the hallway there was a noticeable sewage smell once you crossed over the "bulkhead" into this section of cabins Any other comments? - We will absolutely not book this cabin again. I didn't think overlooking the deck 5 promenade would make me as self conscious on my balcony as it did. I completely underestimated how close the piano bar was when I was looking at deck plans. That was my error, but I won't make it again!
Yuridog Posted February 14, 2022 #290 Share Posted February 14, 2022 Ship: Magic Deck 2 Stateroom: 2459 Inside Stateroom Port Side Quiet Stateroom? NO. Extremely noisy when coming into port, hear dropping of the anchor, captain maneuvering the ship. No connecting stateroom. Multiple issues with this cabin. Electrical problems the entire cruise, could not watch TV when charging a cell phone or when using any electrical outlet. Could not use own blow dryer, as it would make lights flicker. Cabin's blow dryer does work, but could not blow dry hair and watch TV. Plumbing issues with this cabin as the toilet would not flush all the way. Multiple calls to maintenance to have them unclog the toilet. Best advice is to avoid this cabin at all costs!
Rare KmomChicago Posted February 18, 2022 #291 Share Posted February 18, 2022 (edited) Ship - Carnival Legend Deck - Empress, Deck 6 Stateroom # - 6207 Stateroom Category – Grand Suite Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – The room itself is plenty quiet as the huge bathroom and dressing area serve as buffers to the hallway. Of course when on the balcony you can sometimes hear others on theirs nearby. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – While this is not an obstructed view room, the lifeboats are right below you and sticking out from the ship. You don't see ocean looking straight down, you see a lifeboat. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - The balcony is oversized but this is normal for all the Grand Suites on this ship class (Spirit class). It is easily big enough for two loungers which were on the balcony, two normal chairs and a little cocktail table. Was wind a problem? - Not a problem but at times the conditions outside were windy so up to you if that's fine with you or not to go out. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - The balcony doors on Legend all seem to have closing issues. The original door latches don't work in most cases and additional locks have been added to keep them shut from the inside, which doesn't help much when someone is out on the balcony as they probably don't want to be locked out. The door seals are not perfect either. The decor in the room is either whimsical and vintage or tacky and dated, depending on your taste and tolerance for sailing on an older Farcas ship. The room shows its age in places like the TV cabinet which was obviously built for an old tube TV and is not a very good fit in the space or easy to view the current smallish flat screen. The room is spacious but not a very efficient design with wasted space all over. It could have been a one bedroom design rather than just one big room. Carpet seems brand new as of December 2022. Any other comments? - We chose this hugely upgraded room category because my mom and I were sharing and this is what she wanted in order to have plenty of room for her Scootaround and because this was likely her last cruise and it was a bucket list thing to splurge for the best available. For me, while it was nice and comfortable to have the space - about twice the size of a normal balcony cabin, but with a lot of sort of wasted space in the design and far more storage than we needed (multiple closets and dressers), the $$ equation doesn't work as we only really use the room for bathing and sleeping. Smaller, cheaper rooms, whether inside, oceanview or balcony, are fine for us and then we can spend the money on other things. (With comments on problems) – Mostly quiet except it's located directly above the Red Frog Pub on Deck 5. While we did not hear any noise from people, at certain times we heard the thumpa, thumpa, thumpa from the music and discovered that speakers were mounted close to the ceiling right under our cabin. Ear plugs blocked it out at night. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Cabin is mid-Aft - normal views with no obstructions Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal small size Was wind a problem? - No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - As stated above it's above the Red Frog Pub. Any other comments? - Recent drydock changed out all the carpet so room felt clean and fresh. However, signs of age, wear and tear all over. Trim along ceiling was chipped in places. Balcony was the worse with paint splatters everywhere over furniture and floor. Railing needs sanding and varnishing. Glass on balcony needs to be cleaned and was not done during our 2/28/22 cruise. Please see my review for further info on this cabin/cruise. Sorry about the pictures. They are in the correct position on my laptop and there doesn't seem to be an edit feature. Starboard or Port Side - Port, facing forward Quiet Stateroom? Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - N/A unless you consider the forbidden deck to be sort of a balcony. On the one hand it's not - it's an open public deck. On the other hand, hardly anyone was ever out on it and it did have a couple of benches. Was wind a problem? - Not directly but the sign in the secret deck access doors prohibiting access due to high wind was up the entire cruise, even when docked in port in calm conditions. I still went out there a couple of times, safety. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - NA Any specific problems with this cabin? - The room is wider but shorter than a standard cabin. It has no sofa and the only seating is the desk stool and the beds themselves. Any other comments? - Perhaps because the room was not cluttered with furniture, it had a bright, airy, spacious feel. We also had new carpet. Edited May 22, 2022 by KmomChicago

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - No balcony, but this is one of the few 4K category rooms with minimal obstruction from the life boats. That is why we selected this room. Gives you much more to look at, with an interior price point. Balcony Size? Classified as an interior, but with a floor to ceiling window, pretty much full length of current width - windows do not open. Was wind a problem? - We needed a breeze! A small vent would've been awesome. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - No issues at all. Any other comments? -This stateroom is above the exterior promenade deck 3 and below another stateroom deck 5. The only noises that came from this area was when they were offloading the lifeboats for tendering. Otherwise, below we did not hear anything, just the usual people walking down the hall.
