cruiseSEA52 Posted January 25, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2017 When are free drinks available in Suite Lounge? Are soda etc free all day in Suite Lounge? How does embarkation work for suite guests? Do I still have to wait in lines to get in terminal etc? What other things should someone be aware of for their first cruise in a suite? This is for a grand suite. Thanks

Thanks We were in GS last April and repeating this April, getting on was very easy there was a suite line, I know there is coffee all day not sure about soda since we do not drink it, free happy hour each night, suite lounge is very nice. GS is also very nice , there is a dvd player in suite so you can bring dvd's if you want ( tv selection is very poor) , very nice free breakfast in Giovanni's and also a limited lunch on sea days . Pool seating is not that great its a couple of decks above the pool but with good chairs. Disembarkation is excellent concierge walks you off the ship about 8:30. ( next cruise is our 5th GS they are addictive) Conceirge is very good in solving any little problems you have or getting reservations.
ARCruisinNana Posted January 25, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2017 No free soda during the day in the SL on Liberty. Sent from my iPad using Forums
39august Posted January 25, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 25, 2017 Drinks are free from 4:30 to 8 PM. Only coffee available 24/7 if the machine is working. The machines do have to be cleaned from time to time. No sodas. The breakfast is cooked to order in Giovanni's for suites. There will be a nice continental breakfast also in the suite lounge every morning except departure morning. Your luggage will have special tags for debarkation and when you are escorted off by the concierge, the luggage will be in an area very close to where he leads you. There will be a dedicated customs line for suites, so very little waiting.

I thought I had read somewhere that the bar service in the lounge was from 5:30 - 8:00pm. 4:30 sounds better for me so I can make dinner and show.:)

Yes. It will either be 4:30 to 8 or 5 to 8:30. It usually lines up with traditional fixed dining times, beginning an hour before first seating. (USUALLY, not always. Anthem, for example, is 5 to 8:30 but seatings for dinner are 5:30 & 8:15)
wolfganghowell Posted January 26, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 26, 2017 Note that the free drinks is not a full bar or premium liquor. No frozens. Just your basic cocktails, house wine and a few beers to choose from.
KPAGS Posted January 29, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 29, 2017 Wait, what is the Suite Lounge? We were only able to get a Junior Suite everything else was sold out when we booked; I'm sure the SL is just for the larger suites?
sellwingri Posted January 29, 2017 #10 Share Posted January 29, 2017 (edited) You're in for a treat! The GS on Liberty is the largest of the suites we've sailed in on RCI. They're all nice but our room was much larger than other ships. Embarkation is quick. They'll let you in before other passengers. Getting off is extremely easy. Your concierge will personally escort you off the ship before others. Enjoy. We're now spoiled and only sail in grand suites. The Suite Lounge (or Concierge Lounge on ships with that instead) are reserved for full suites (Grand Suite and higher) - Junior Suites are not eligible for this benefit. The Suite Lounge on the Liberty is for Grand Suite and above, plus Pinnacle Club members. The Diamond Club is for those who are Diamond or Diamond Plus in the Crown & Anchor Society. (and Pinnacles are welcome)

That's what I said. To me, Hennessy tastes like raw turpentine. Courvoisier is much smoother. But, alas, I am S.O.L. ;)
George C Posted January 30, 2017 #18 Share Posted January 30, 2017 As you said it is a matter of taste but you seem to prefer something that sells for 5 dollars less , I will drink Courviosier only when Hennessy is not available
