danielundecided Posted February 12, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2017 It might be a bit rough on the crossing over the Atlantic. Remember that the port you dock at is 2 hours away (by car from London) which is Southampton, so any travel arrangements will have to be from Southampton docks. April can't come quick enough!! :--) Dan Sent from my iPhone using Forums

satxdiver Posted February 13, 2017 #7 Share Posted February 13, 2017 I'm afraid that the only one who might know what the weather will be doesn't post here on CC. How true! We did the TA last fall from Southampton to NYC. The seas were not bad except for the notorious North Sea on our way to Iceland. It was cold but then to me anything below 70F is cold! Anyone predicting it for you will be as accurate as groundhogs on February 2. We once had a TransAtlantic cruise where the weather was bright and sunny each day and the seas were so calm we had to go outside and look at the ocean to see if the ship was even moving. And the Captain during his daily announcement one day said that there was another Princess ship on the same route but was two days ahead of us. He said that the other ship had storms and rough seas the entire way.
tv24 Posted February 13, 2017 #9 Share Posted February 13, 2017 We will be on the same crossing and are looking forward to it as it will be our first on Princess. We've done similar crossings on another line and found the weather near Florida to be warm and pleasant. The ship will take a more southerly route than those that cross in the North Atlantic and thus there will probably be calmer seas, but no guarantee. As we get closer to northern France, Ireland & the UK, the weather will be colder. So all-in-all, I'm expecting quite a mix.
compozer Posted February 13, 2017 #10 Share Posted February 13, 2017 Come join our roll call. We always layer on TA's. Being too hot is almost as bad as being too cold.
aquilegia Posted February 13, 2017 #11 Share Posted February 13, 2017 It's useless to ask a question about UK weather because it can't be predicted with any reliability more than a couple of days ahead (and sometimes not even then). It might be cold and wet but it could just as well be dry, sunny and comparatively warm. If you're coming from Florida it will certainly be cooler than you're used to. Just bring plenty of layers.
