39august Posted February 24, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2017 Just found Luminae menus on google. Are there no "always available" options like shrimp cocktail, a soup, some sort of salad, and any type of entree like a steak or chicken or pasta? The menus look very much like the menus for Coastal Kitchen on RCI except for the "classic always available" section on RCI which includes all of the above. Am I correct that ordering from the MDR menu is also allowed in Luminae? There is something I like every night, but I see a few that nothing would appeal to my husband. jelayne Posted February 24, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 24, 2017 You can order from the MDR menu. We had no problem getting items modified in Luminae. A friend traveling with us often ordered Caesar salad, steak, or grilled chicken.
kdogfister Posted February 24, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 24, 2017 MDR menu is available when dining in Luminae and that menu includes a number of "classics".
cynbar Posted February 24, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 24, 2017 We were in Luminae last month on Silhouette. We knew from these boards that we could order from the MDR menu, but the staff there never mentioned it to us. We did look at the menus in advance for both Luminae and the MDR, and a few times we just asked for an item off the other menu. Both menus are posted outside the respective dining rooms in the afternoon, and I think are also available in Michael's Club.
bigbenboys Posted February 24, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 24, 2017 In Luminae you can ask for the MDR menu. We order off of both. Yes you can get shrimp cocktail, escargot and any of the every night items. Don't forget you can order off the the MDR lunch menu at lunch time in Luminae also. wrk2cruise Posted February 25, 2017 #10 Share Posted February 25, 2017 If you're a steak lover don't miss the filet cob salad on the lunch menu. It's a wonderful full sized filet, the best beef they served on any menu in Luminae.

You'll almost certainly have the same waiter every day. If you get on with them, they might let you go off menu within reason and if you give them sufficient notice etc.
