metairiegal Posted March 5, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 5, 2017 Just watched it sail away - no problems! And, I got to hear the ship's horn play The Love Boat tune!

CRLess Posted March 5, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 5, 2017 Winds down here today are steady 25-30 knots (I was crazy enough to golf in them this morning!). No way the ships could use their own thrusters today to power off the docks safely.
rkacruiser Posted March 5, 2017 #8 Share Posted March 5, 2017 Many years ago, I was aboard Sitmar's Fairwind which was docked where Regal Princess is. Our sailing was delayed due to strong winds from the East. I don't recall for sure whether the Captain requested tugs eventually or not. I think we waited until the winds decreased. Rare geoherb Posted March 5, 2017 #9 Share Posted March 5, 2017 I tuned in late--just HAL's Rotterdam left in port. The folks on a thread on the HAL page mentioned the tugs for the other ships. The Rotterdam left without tugs assisting her.
