Faster to Fun makes bags more or less likely to be inspected?

Yes, all bags are scanned/x-rayed. IMO the OP is asking if the first "wave" of bags are more likely to be kind of "double checked." I have wondered this myself as we are Diamond and would have our luggage in the beginning of the packing of the ship. I mean, are they more dilligent at the beginning, at the end kind of: "well, I see a rum runner, but it's getting late. No biggie, let this one thru and let's go grab a beer." I think it's a total crap shoot.

Yes karen that is exactly what I meant LOL and ours got picked for secondary inspection last time and they STILL never found them LOL[/quot

I was caught ONCE-last cruise on Pride out of Baltimore. Believe me, we buy TONS of drinks, leave a few month's worth of mortgage payments in the casino and are "Carnival recruiters" (wish we got a commission lol) but I like to have a wine spritzer in my cabin and they charge same price as a glass of wine (even tho I ask for ice and lemon lime soda which means I get about a shot glass of actual WINE) and just the convenience....anyway, I bring a box of wine and this time they caught me! We had lunch with the Captain and officers as we are Diamond which included a tour of the galley and I saw my box of wine sitting right on the counter lol.:o Along with a TON of other bottles and boxes. Like I said, I think it's just a crap shoot, roll of the dice.

Hi there

As was said all the bag go through the same X-rays. You can't tell the color of the luggage tag on an x-ray.

They would be putting all the bags through as they come. They wouldn't be segregating the bags before they got on board. They would be expediting the bags that have a preferred status once on board, but they wouldn't be holding back other bags. People who don't have preferred status can receive their bags just as quickly as those that do, it is just a matter of chance for them.

Last point, this inspection is not like at an airport, or like with your carry on. If they see a suspect item, they do not open your bags. They hold them and have you open them.

hope this helps

Okay, like I said, I have only been caught once, but they did not call me to the "naughty room." Rather, they left me a note that I had something in my bag that was not allowed on board (or something like that) and it was removed. I obviously knew it was the wine box and then saw it sitting in the galley lol. Rumor is that they discard everything, but I think they probably use it for food prep because I did see tons of what I assume were confiscated booze bottles in the galley on the counter right where they store the "spirits."

I've cruised carnival twice, FTTF both times. The first time no bags were inspected. The second, my daughter's suitcase had a note in it that it had been opened and inspected. I suspect it was her mouthwash that was suspicious. It was brand new and sealed so there were no issues.
