musik07 Posted March 26, 2017 #26 Share Posted March 26, 2017 Keep in mind we also cruised the week before July 4th right after they had the kids sail free promo. Before we upgraded to YC I think our cruise total for 2 was under 1500, which is a steal in the summer! The ship was beautiful, the shows were great. There was just some issues with traffic flow, which I REALLY noticed because I was in a walking cast (and drinking in YC) and was stumbling over every little thing, and a lot of selling things on the pool deck and in the Cafe area which took up public space. Would we do it again in YC at the right price? Absolutely. There were actually a few nights where we said we would have wanted to go to the main dining room because we liked the food choices there! Everything I ate off of the main buffet was great and we always found seating. Staff members everywhere were nice. Someone stopped cleaning a table to carry my plate because they "didn't want me to fall" during peak lunch hour. Just know you more than likely won't leave the YC much except shows and entertainment, but to be truthful there isn't much you need to leave for! I should also add that I am 28 and really like to vacation to relax, eat good food and drink good drinks. I have NO clue what the nightlife was like!
mafig Posted March 26, 2017 #27 Share Posted March 26, 2017 We left the Yacht Club for the shows and the casino and, of course, to get to LeMuse. That was a pain, but Seaside will have the restaurant located in the Yacht Club area. I see the Yacht Club for under $4000 for two on certain dates (this is for Seaside). Do you think Edge will be even close to that amount?
BosoxI Posted March 26, 2017 #28 Share Posted March 26, 2017 There is no doubt in my mind that the Yacht Club is the best choice. But beware that the food on Le Muse was a disappointment for us. We expected far better fare from an Italian line. While there were some excellent items, in general we like Luminae and even Blu better. Also, the Celebrity ships are nicer in the public areas. We found the Divina to be closed in and the shopping area to be claustrophobic. The color scheme was straight from the 1970s. We ate in the buffet only once and found it to be crowded and quite a mad house, though the food was very good. Having said all this, the Yacht Club makes MSC far better than Aqua. The cabins are equal, but the butler service on MSC is much better than in a suite on Celebrity. In fact our complaint, such as it was, is that the butler service is TOO attentive. Upon arrival at the pier we were personally escorted into a waiting room on the ship. From there the Yacht Club experience really began. We look forward to repeating it, even as Elite+ on X.
mafig Posted March 26, 2017 #29 Share Posted March 26, 2017 I do have to agree about the food in LeMuse. Mostly many items just weren't hot. If you read reviews on Divina, a lot of them complain about this. I wonder why this is. For instance, on one occasion my mashed potatoes were cold. Not luke warm, but cold. My husbands lobster tails were not thoroughly cooked, he had to send them back twice. Mine were perfect, however, and the lobster tails in LeMuse are HUGE.:D I did enjoy starting every meal with prosecco (sp?), and having the wine flow so freely. Other food was very good. Our butler was always around. I think we were on the same schedule. A couple of times when he was delivering our daily newspaper, I opened the door and scared us both! helen haywood Posted March 26, 2017 #32 Share Posted March 26, 2017 Depends what's more important to you. I just checked prices for this October for a S2 Sky Suite on Equinox, for 2 people: $6676. Same month on Divina in a YC1 for two people (and kids sail free): $3778. Of course, the Equinox is a 10 night sailing and the Divina is a 7 night. Ten nights on the Equinox @ $668 per night versus seven on the Divina @ $540, a fairly substantial difference. Throw in the YC amenities and it becomes my choice, all things being equal.. Celebrity is rapidly pricing themselves out of my area of interest , but apparently, I am in the minority, as X ships seem to be quite full. mafig Posted April 2, 2017 #34 Share Posted April 2, 2017 Aren't YC cabins only for two people?. No, some of them have a sleep sofa, so they would fit four (although tightly). Also, I'm not 100% sure the kids sail free extends to the YC. It might, I just think I remember reading something where YC wasn't covered.
hevets Posted September 10, 2023 #35 Share Posted September 10, 2023 I have traveled on both the AQUA class on Celebrity (January 2022) and in the YACHT CLUB class (May 2023) - comparing the two in the quickest manner would be best explained in that I have booked the YACHT CLUB cruise again for Mar 2023. The AQUA CLASS experience is nice and until my tour in May of this year was surely my favorite. Basically, the rooms were enhanced and quite nice in the Aqua Class and the BLU Restaurant was very nice. Surely both the ROOM AND THE RESTAURANT were nice and the experience was one that I would repeat. The YACHT CLUB experience offers a LOT MORE bang for your buck, so much so that my wife has indicated that we could either REPEAT THE SAME TRIP or find something with this class. The experience is much more inclusive, including priority boarding (you pass the lines), a separate area for Yacht Club guests, a separate bar (Top Sail Lounge) and separate restaurant (which was excellent). Additionally, you get "head of the line service" on most venues, including reserved seating at the evening shows. The Yacht Club Class gives you a lot of options in the dedicated areas. Although our ship / sailing was full, there were no lines, little noise, a relaxed atmosphere where the employees do get to know you. Basically Aqua Class give you a nicer room than regular Celebrity (rooms are comparable to the Yacht Club Rooms - no major differences either way) and a nice dining venue for breakfast and dinner. The YACHT CLUB CLASS give to a total experience from avoiding lines to two private dining venues (pool and Yacht Club) to tremendous service. MY PERSONAL OPINION is that there is no doubt that there are dramatically more benefits / perks in the Yacht Club. Compare the pricing and our feeling was/is that for $600-700 more per person (I don't think it is that much) there is NO COMPARISON. There are a lot of good reviews and information on the Yacht Club Class on YouTube - Do your research!
39august Posted September 10, 2023 #36 Share Posted September 10, 2023 (edited) Your post indicates you were in an Aqua class cabin, not a suite. Aqua class is NOT a suite on Celebrity.. It is a veranda cabin the same size and furnished the same as all other veranda cabins on the ship..Only the Blu restaurant is an addition. So this is apples to oranges comparison.. That is true, and this is a 6 year old thread, but when the price of Aqua is real close to the price for YC, as it seems to be now, it does make for an interesting comparison...

39august Posted September 10, 2023 #41 Share Posted September 10, 2023 I only replied because I didn't want a current reader to think this was an honest comparison. When this was written there were NO Aqua Suites. He was in an Aqua cabin.

Do they have a T pool,? Sorry hcat, but I no longer remember all the details, however I remember that we were very impressed with the spa's on Seaside and the Meraviglia. We wore our YC robes from the cabin over our swim suits and they just let us right in after giving us locker keys. Much better experience than the spa's on any of the Celebrity Spas. They contain a wide variety of experiences/rooms that divide the large spa into more manageable experiences. Yes, they do contain T-type pools and several other experiences, and also a door to an outside spa only area that we never managed to get to.. If you have sailed on Princess' Regal Class ships (the newest that we have sailed) the MSC Spas are similar, even better/bigger. Either MSC, or Princess Regal Class, spas put Celebrity's to shame IMO.
