if the Magic Carpet is supposed to be positioned above the level of the top deck for this event, and passengers can't ride in it while it's moving, how can diners get to Dinner on the Edge?

The handout we got says specifically "above". And boasts that's it's especially exciting because there is no deck there.

Sounds like your handout has incorrect information.

 

Magic Carpet will be positioned on Deck 16 for the dinners. Here is an excerpt from the EDGE Q&A pdf document produced by Celebrity.

Sounds like the ship didn't get correct information, or they didn't quite understand the concept.

 

For sure it will be positioned on Deck 16 for the dinners, and that is how and where you will access the platform if you have a dinner reservation. It will be stationary.

Maybe the confusion came from the language "above the pool deck on deck 16." The pool deck is deck 15, so the Magic Carpet will be BOTH "above the pool deck" and "on deck 16."

I'm sure what he tried to describe was that the magic carpet hangs off the edge of the ship and is not built into the fixed deck. This is truly a case pf a copy writer being given a concept and then being tasked to describe it in "marketing speak."
