Ben and Jerry's Sweet

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

The Ben and Jerry's "Sweet" is available on the cruise on Freedom we are considering. Has anyone stayed in one of these rooms recently? I want to make sure that the perks are still offered--if not, we'll just get an inside room.

Thanks!

I haven't read any posts saying that they are not offering the ice cream and CL perks.

Be aware, there can be a slamming door at all hours issue. Some say it's bothersome and others say it was not a problem.

I may have been the main instigator on that complaint. I have been told by someone I trust that the problem no longer exists.

If it does, go to GS, notify them and they will adjust the door.

Personally, I don't like promenade cabins. One and done for us

LOVE! LOVE! the sweet!!!! Have stayed in it on the Freedom and the Indy. I got to bed early and had no noise issues, though I do sleep with the tv on as well, as I do at home. The perks was so well worth it! When we boarded the ship, we went straight to front desk and inquired about the use of the concierge lounge. We checked in with the lounge and then all was well. The most kind and friendly staff in the lounge!!! Midway through our cruise, they even offered to let us call home on their dime to check in with the kids...we didn't because we were already texting with them throughout the cruise. Dh and I jump at the chance any time we can snag that room. The last time we had it was in June 2015.

Thanks for the info.

So they don't leave a letter in the cabin telling you about the perks anymore?

Have seen old posts that stated there was a letter.

I just hope that when we have it in June on the Freedom if I have to visit guest relations to enquire about the sweet perks they don't look at me like I'm crazy!

We were in this cabin and the connecting one this past Christmas. The perks were all still available. The letter was not in the room when we got there, but the room steward brought it to us (along with the two concierge lounge keys and the ice cream coupons) after the safety drill.

We were in the "Sweet" four weeks ago and there was indeed a letter in the cabin from the Concierge describing the perks we'd receive. In that envelope were also two gold "Concierge Club" cards that we used to get into the "Cowcierge Lounge" and also two punch cards for free ice cream.

The only thing that was slightly unusual was that the punch cards had 7 boxes to check off, but it was an 8-night cruise.

Thanks for confirming this. Our in-laws booked the "suite" on the Freedom for March 2019. When booking on the phone, they were told about the decorating of the room, the Ben & Jerry perks, and access to the Concierge Club.

Only thing I noticed is that the cost of the cabin is $182 Canadian more per person than a standard inside cabin, so in reality you are really paying for those perks somewhat (but all promenade cabins are $182 per person more than the inside cabins on that sailing). I told my in-laws to book it so that they are guaranteed in that cabin for the perks and I will monitor it for them for price drops (which I expect the will be). It already went down about $30 yesterday and they only booked it 3 days ago.

I am booked in this room on the freedom this year at the end of November. When we booked the Promenade was the same price as an Inside so it was a no brainer. Can't wait to give it a whirl!

Same here! That's why I jumped on it. I'm diamond but I'm cruising with my sister who is platinum. I wanted us both to get the lounge access so this is the best option plus the novelty value of staying in such a unique cabin.

I will be packing earplugs just in case!

What did you not like about the layout? I am not a fan of the headboard against the back wall and I like the little seating area so I am thinking I might enjoy it.

I feel trapped if I am on the sofa and Laura is putting on makeup.

My friend had the Sweet Suite in February and while she had access to the Concierge Lounge, she did NOT have access to the Diamond Lounge.

Ear plugs are a good idea to block out the noise of the crew door banging at all hours of the night [emoji15]

It was a novelty cabin for sure, and she enjoyed it overall.

We stayed in the one on Liberty and know others who have stayed since. No issues with the adjoining door. The ice cream and Cowcierge Lounge are still part of the picture! Speaking of

Pictures...

We had 6305 on the Freedom last year and loved it! We are Diamond, so had access to both lounges. The Concierge in the suite lounge will also priority escort you off the ship for any of your excursions and disembarkation at the end of your cruise if you wish! I thought the coffee machine was better in the suite lounge, as well. In your cabin, be sure to notice the cow tea pot with the big pink nose!! They allowed us to add it to the shelf!! I had pictures of the shelf but can't seem to find it at the moment, so I hope it's still there!

We weren't allowed to join in the departure group on the last day. That was a couple of years ago

We just booked 6305 on the Independence of the Seas from 3 Jan 2019 to 17 Jan 2019. Does anyone have the details of the perks for this "Sweet"?

You have access to the Concierge Lounge. Each person in the stateroom will get on coupon per day for ice cream.
