Koningsdam March 12-April 2

Thanks, your description was very helpful. I think this is similar to the Zuiderdam--we booked late for a Panama Canal cruise and probably got the smallest aft cabin!

No way to predict. The ships can vary, and the aft area is where they adjust the cabins to deal with hallways, storage and other variances between decks. The bow can only go so far forward, so the aft is adjusted. It is very noticeable on Koningsdam...each aft balcony deck is a different length. Deck 8 is tucked under the Lido deck- good balcony privacy. Decks 7-6-5 jut out differing distances, (Deck 6 only a little more than 7, and 5 a slightly larger amount than 6), then 4 really sticks out.

The vista suite verandas on deck 4 are only 5 ft deep and only have 2 chairs, 1 footstool and a small table. The aft SB's would be 5 ft deep verandas over the stern, plus the side veranda

Thank you for a very well written and comprehensive review. Did you ever have the sense of any areas being overcrowded? Seem to recall this was a complaint about the Lido in some other reviews.

The Lido pool area actually felt smaller, and less wide open than other HAL Lido pool areas. But I wouldn't say overcrowded.. It was popular on the sea days, but, again, not over crowded, IMHO.

The Billboard Lounge area was very popular, and could be called crowded. Not just that Lounge, but the several other things in the area. It is definitely a "Main Street" location, with lots of things going on. They have a Beatles tribute event that was crazy jammed. It filled the lounge, the Lincoln Center across the way, and every nook and cranny in the area.
