Diamond lounge tipping

We tip each round of drinks. Never know if you will see the same bar servers on the last night.

We do this as well. We have heard of an almost pinnacle couple that gives penny candy instead of a money tip. Lol seems they never tip anywhere.

Friends tip a bag of Belgium chocolates and cash nightly though and the srevers love the extra touch!!

We tip each round for the same reason Bob mentioned above. If the service is excellent (which it usually is) we will give extra on the last night as well.

We also tip with each round of drinks, also in suite/concierge lounge, we sail at the end of the month and will go to the bank soon and get about 50 in singles and 50 in fives ( got this idea from someone else on this site) also good to have small bills in Caribbean islands

Depending on the cruise length.....

I bring $200 in fives/tens and $100 in two dollar bills. We tip after each round and some extra the last night to our favorite servers/bartenders.

We also tip each round of drinks and extra on the last night. Most of the time you will have the same servers all week. However, we have encountered staff changes on the last night and felt bad that we could not find the server who took such good care of us during the cruise.

We also tip nightly in Coastal Kitchen. Again we may have different wait staff each night. I did ask on Harmony if the CK wait staff pooled their tips and the answer was no. So we started tipping our wait staff each night. They do get a portion of the pre-paid tips.

When $2 bills came out they were cool, but like the $1 coin more of a novelty and will never be excepted in USA. Even then and few yrs ago though we know it's all legal tender I've had dozens places want to refuse to take them assuming not real. So others don't have same issues I don't use them anymore. If I ever came across another which isn't likely I'd just give it to one my Grand Kids. It's little too cutesy to give as tips. Like when passengers give a present from where they are from instead of cold hard cash....

I'll keep using $2 bills and we'll see who gets their drinks first.

Put me with the tip nightly crowd. I do ask if they are assigned there for the week as far as they know. Not only might your "regular" server maybe not be there the last night - what if you decide to do something else that night?

I just get it at guest services or the casino cage when onboard. I just bring larger bills so it makes it easier then exchange for smaller bills onboard.

What is the acceptable way to tip the staff in the diamond lounge? Do you tip for each drink? Tip at the end of each night or tip on the last night?

We tip every round as the servers rotate throughout the cruise. Although it seems if you tip the servers will find you and ask you for your order. And i also tip at the end of a cruise if we have a really good server.

Also tip in coastal kitchen or mdr on the last night as we usually stay with the same waiter throughout the week.

We do both. We normally tip on every round and then a larger tip at the end of the cruise. Those guys take such good care of us!!!

Too bad more people don't read Cruise Critic as I think that many don't tip at all in the Diamond lounge. I like to tip per drink each night.

Ontario Cruiser

I believe you are right.....

On our last TA our waiter who worked there most nights would save our table by putting our preferred drinks with some nut mix out on the table before the 5pm happy hour started. He did this only for the few that were tipping.

Didn't see much tipping going on.
