Fll pre-cruise

Has anyone stayed at Homewood Suites? Any other recommendations?

We stayed at the Homewood Suites, Dania Beach for a late March/April cruise. We stayed a day prior to the cruise and a day after upon return. The main area of the hotel has been completely refurbished. It is very nice. The rooms are next on the agenda.

Rooms are dated, but we found them clean and comfortable. Doing a family cruise in May and will return for a stay once again. Have no issues recommending staying there.

We usually stay at the Embassy Suites, living room and bedroom, fridge and microwave, free breakfast and cocktail hour and convenient location....

We booked it in FLL pre-cruise for our November sailing. They got good reviews and offer 21 day free parking. Since we may drive to FLL for this sailing (haven't made up our minds yet) it looks like a good option.

We stayed at Homewood Suites Brickell in Miami this past March. It was great. There was a Publix 2 blocks away. We walked over there before we took an Uber ($8.88) to the POM to get a few things.

It even included breakfast. For sure we will look at Homewood in the future. Definitely a step up from Hampton Inn and really, not all the different from Embassy Suites except for the freebie cocktail hour and the made to order omelets.

I booked the Hilton Marina yesterday at $132 per night. That is in the month of Dec ! They overlook the cruise port with a terrific view !

Thanks for the replies! How did you get the $132/night? We need a room for 3/22/18 and it is $259! I have reserved the rooms we need (10) at Homewood Suites for $208 but will keep looking for a better deal as the time gets closer.

You are looking at PEAK season. Don't expect to get a hotel for the non peak ( pre Christmas ) rate. Good idea to book now and watch for other options if you want. Spring break time is family busy.

Agree with this recommendation. Had read some less than favourable reviews but delighted with our choice. Would return if sailing from Port Everglades again)

Yes it is an older property and could do with some refurbishment, but clean, well presented, professional staff. Plenty of choice for breakfast and two hour manager's reception included.

Location is great. Easy walk to two supermarkets..Publix and |Winn Dixie for last minute 'supplies' Few restaurants in same strip mall and fast food within five minute walk. Sun Trolley to beach and Galleria Mall (disappointing) amongst other places from outside Publix..(10am -6pm) Ross, TJ Maxx, Dollar Tree stores very close

Hired a car, arranged by concierge( offered at $39 but came to $95 after insurance and taxes) as wanted to visit Sawgrass Mills. Glad we visited but wouldn't bother again. There was also a shuttle which would take four for $55 each way.

Hope this information is useful.
