Tips for Embarkation Day Lunch on Navigator

Any tips on lunch on the first day, other than the Windjammer. I know on Celebrity they have the Mast Grill, anything like that on RCCL? We don't need the hassle of the Windjammer and while killing time until the cabin's are ready we would like a relaxed free lunch.

No grill, but Cafe Promenade will be open.

If you don't mind a bit of a walk, get your food at the WJ, but walk it down the stairs and eat in the library while overlooking the promenade.

You can always plan to board around 1:00, go drop your stuff off in your cabin, and then enjoy a relatively empty WJ.

We usually take our food and eat by the pool on embarkation day. Harmony was an exception, where we ate at Park Cafe. Our recent Navigator cruise was windy and cool but the covered area wasn't bad.

Unfortunately nothing like the poolside grills on Celebrity and Princess. Royal is very weak in this area. Of course the Windjammer will have pre-cooked hamburger patties sitting in a pan for you to build your own burger...just awful IMHO.

 

 

Unless we get to the Windjammer before the crowds hits (usually about noon), we just get a bite at the Cafe Promenade and look forward to dinner.

Well you will struggle for some proper hot food for lunch if you dismiss Windjammer on embarkation day. Your only other option is the Cafe Promenade which is mostly sandwiches and maybe pizza.

On Royal there is no lunch service in the MDR on embarkation day :(.
