Jewelry

I used to bring good jewelry, but now I just feel more carefree if I leave it all at home in the safe deposit box at the bank. I have some decent "fakes," and that's what I travel with. On port days, I have a "no gold" rule. I really don't want to attract attention.

As many do, I bring the 'good stuff' as well as costume jewelry and enjoy wearing it. It all lives in the safe and the good stuff is insured. When ashore, I always wear the absolute minimum regardless of the port, usually just a watch (plus only my wedding band when my DH was still here). We stick out as tourists so why tempt anyone.

When I asked my DW if she wears her real jewerly on our cruises she told me she wears her sometimes diamonds. Sometimes they are real diamonds and sometimes not. ;)

I can only afford the real stuff. :o:confused:

My wife brings the real stuff. Where better to wear some of her nicer jewelry than on a cruise. She has a jewelry roll that is always with us in our carry on and never out of our sight or control when traveling. On the ship it goes into the safe. Off the ship in ports or on tours she wears very little jewelry and even goes with just a wedding band instead of her full set.

I too feel the same way. Very little call to wear the good jewelry at home but I do like to dress for dinner every night and wear some corresponding piece of my better jewelry.
