miched Posted June 10, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 10, 2017 Haven't seen it but you could improvise. Ask for root beer with a shot of vodka, rum or anything else. It would be no different than anything else mixed with a soft drink like a rum and coke or 7 and 7 Drink up 🍷🍹🍸🍺

Rare mom says Posted June 10, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 10, 2017 I had never heard of it before either. But it's a newish thing. And likely will remain a niche market. Found this: https://beta.theglobeandmail.com/life/food-and-wine/food-trends/from-sickly-sweet-to-macho-alcoholic-root-beer-put-to-the-taste-test/article30881237/?ref=https://www.theglobeandmail.com&
miched Posted June 10, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 10, 2017 There are many brands I think the first that became popular is Not Your Fathers Root Beer. It is a little sweet and has about 8% alcohol. It goes down easy and you would never know that it is a beer or has alcohol. If you didn't tell anyone they would think it was a soft drink and would wonder why they got smashed. Many would add vanilla ice cream to it to make a float. When it first came out it was hard to get as it sold out fast. I paid $42 for a case. It is now about $32. There are many more brands now and different flavors such as ginger ale. The different brands all taste different and as some are sweeter than the others, more root beer flavor or don't have much carbonation. Drink up 🍷🍹🍸🍺
EMS8 Posted June 11, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 11, 2017 Not Your Fathers Rootbeer is still, hands down, the best of all the alcoholic root beers. And still pretty pricey.
