rosepark Posted June 22, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2017 I like Deck 5 as it is an easy trip to and from the bar! Rp
Emtbsam Posted June 22, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 22, 2017 deck 5 is convenient to the Reception Desk, Shore excursion deck, and two bars, not to mention the boutiques and casino.
MLeh Posted June 22, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 22, 2017 My preference would be a V2 on 5, or a V3 on 6, but not directly over the bar. I prefer mid ship. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare Silver Spectre Posted June 22, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 22, 2017 Definitely deck 5 mid ship.
talparis Posted June 22, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted June 22, 2017 Thanks guys, we are offered 528, 610 or 714 which will be the best choice? Thanks
MLeh Posted June 22, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 22, 2017 Do you want a dock side balcony when you're in port? If that doesn't matter to you, go with 528. Sent from my iPad using Forums
talparis Posted June 22, 2017 Author #8 Share Posted June 22, 2017 Is port side any better? I have no idea but let me know as I need to make up my mind by Monday Thanks everybody.
Emtbsam Posted June 22, 2017 #9 Share Posted June 22, 2017 I would take 528. We have been in 529 several times and love the location.
MLeh Posted June 22, 2017 #10 Share Posted June 22, 2017 Is port side any better? I have no idea but let me know as I need to make up my mind by Monday Thanks everybody. Some people like being able to watch the hustle and bustle, and being able to wave from their balcony during the sail away. Personally it doesn't make much of a difference to me. CruisinPashmina Posted June 23, 2017 #11 Share Posted June 23, 2017 I'd take 528. Most of my SS friends prefer deck 6, but deck 5 is my favorite...being so close to the bar probably has a bit to do about this preference.🍸

rosepark Posted June 23, 2017 #15 Share Posted June 23, 2017 That all important Trivia usually takes place in the bar on the Whisper. Very true and the quick entrance to and exit from the show lounge is at this level too. Rp
Camillus112 Posted June 23, 2017 #16 Share Posted June 23, 2017 Also, the gangway, when docked, is on deck 5.
Luv2Cruise1016 Posted June 23, 2017 #17 Share Posted June 23, 2017 I love deck 6 (stayed in 622) but agree that mid-ship location of 528 is preferable.
Wellseasoned Posted June 25, 2017 #18 Share Posted June 25, 2017 Our favorite suite on the Whisper for many cruises is 639. It is starboard side, quiet, but just opposite the staircase and elevator, laundry if you need it- and, most important opposite a door to what we call the unmarked "secret verandah" on the port side. So you can just dash out from starboard to port view in seconds if there is something to see. (And there is no standard docking side for the ship. It varies, sometimes starboard, sometimes port.) The adjacent starboard deck six suites, such as 637 and 641 have similar advantages.

MBP&O2/O Posted July 31, 2017 #22 Share Posted July 31, 2017 Equally - if you are at sea you may see more shipping from a cabin on the port side than the starboard side.... if you are into that sort of thing. A snippet from the Collision Regulations .. aka International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972 14. Head-on situationsWhen two power-driven vessels are meeting head-on both must alter course to starboard so that they pass on the port side of the other. "Head-on" means seeing the other vessel ahead or nearly ahead so that by night her masthead lights are actually or nearly lined up and/or seeing both her sidelights, or by day seeing a similar aspect of her." 15. Crossing situationsWhen two power-driven vessels are crossing, the vessel which has the other on the starboard side must give way and avoid crossing ahead of herFWIW
