Upgrade and upsell at embarkation

Sailing on 7/20 Panama Canal and due to a Guarantee fare have not yet obtained a cabin number. If we don't receive one until embarkation will we still be able to upgrade at the counter?

You will have your cabin assigned on or before embarkation. Upgrade will depend on availability, which seldom happens.

Upgrades pierside are pretty much not an option. Ships sail full, and when there are open cabins, there is no real discount or savings

Oh well, just thought I'd see if anyone had any info on this. I'm certain the cruise will be dynamite and really look forward to it.

The people at the check in desks do not have access to empty cabin list, nor the ability to change or upgrade your cabin, or take money. You can check at Guest Services after boarding, but there usually is a sign that the ship is full. Anyway, there would be no discount from the posted fare. EM

If they do have an empty cabin to sell you, it will be at the going rate. There will be no discount. You might as well contact the cruise line or your TA ahead of time to buy the upgrade.

if you want an upgrade ask now as mentioned above it rarely happens at the port
