When to pay final payment.

It appears that I have to pay my final cruise payment 90 days before sailing. Do reservations (entertainment, restaurant, etc..) open up at 90 days also or if I pay off the balance earlier will I be able to make reservations earlier?

nope everything opens at 90 days unless you are in a suite then payment is at 120 days and reservations opens at 100.

I normally pay 1 week prior to the due date for final pay. Want to make certain I don't forget to pay on time, so just write it on my desk calendar as a reminder.

In the U.K. Our final payment date is 60 days out, but it makes no difference to the 90 day reservation bookings.

But, for best dining times and show times, book exactly 90 days prior to your cruise. Teppanyaki will be the first to sell out during prime time (and totally sell out quickly on the small ships). Cagneys will fill up next.

Worth it to always pay a few days earlier in case you get busy. You can always get refund if you cancel by the 90 days (120 for suite).

I don't understand what you are saying. You can pay off your cruise whenever you want, and make reservations whenever they open up. One has nothing to do with the other. If you booked through NCL website you can make reservations, and buy excursions up until a few days before you sail.

Agree. If you plan to pay on day 91 and there's any issues with your credit card being processed or you forget you could risk your cruise being cancelled.

Don't cut it so close. Pay a few days ahead of time. It is not like you are going to lose any interest or have to pay much more interest by paying a week ahead of time.

 

 

You can book shore excursions any time even if you are not paid in full.

Great info guys. I thought that you had to be paid in full before they would allow reservations of any sort. Also good info on giving myself a buffer. Thanks!
