Does anyone know how something like vodka and Red Bull would be treated?

That one they charge for the red bull.

I know one thing the way they raised all the prices I could not sail NCL with out a drink package.

Actually I only sailed one time with out the package before the packages existed and I have been on quite a few NCL ships I think I am Gold almost platinum.

But I must say NCL is my fav over all the other lines I have been on.

Red Bull and other energy drinks and bottles oid water are covered by the casino drink card. Play in there and get their card and it covers any drink they can make while there.

No, actually you get a players card to play in their casino and build comps depending upon the amount you play, but the casino drink card allows free drinks while you play in the casino. This card can be given at the time you get the players card or after a certain amount of play. My first cruise was given to me by Total Rewards for my play at the Horseshoe casino in Tunics, ms and the drink card may have come with that free cruise certificate. The card may usually require a certain amount of play before it is issued. Check with the players club onboard.

Hello all!

My wife and I have never cruised on Norwegian Cruise Line before but are considering it. We have cruised on Celebrity RCI and Holland. My question is how does the free drink package work? Is it unlimited drink and whats not included?

Is it hard to get a drink at the bar with so many cruisers with drink packages?

I know this probably has been covered before but Id appreciate any help.

i continued to be baffled by this, as they are both the same price at the liquor store, yet NCL wants to charge $7 more for flavored.

Grey Goose -- $9.50 -- Excluded -- Yes

Grey Goose Cherry Noir -- $16.95 -- Excluded -- Excluded

Grey Goose 'Orange -- $16.95 -- Excluded -- Excluded

Grey Goose La Poire -- $16.95 -- Excluded -- Excluded

Crazy, but I am guessing they get a cheaper deal from the supplier on plain grey goose because of the much larger volume purchased.

Unlimited drinks with everything under 15.00 covered. If you choose the package as a perk, you pay just under 100 as an 18% gratuity charge for a seven day cruise per person. Bottled water and coffee drinks not included.

I'm annoyed by it. I like a vodka and soda with flavor, and it's out. I wonder if there are good substitutions? I asked the waitress if she could ask the bartender to see about it, and she brought back...well, I don't know what the F she brought back, but it wasn't a vodka and soda with flavor, I know that.

I’m like you, I like vodka drinks with either flavored vodka or natural ingredients. The only thing I can think of is cranberry juice at the moment. Otherwise, it will be dirty martinis, beer mostly with tasting of other drinks they have which may appeal to me. I’m going with an open taste buds.

:cocktail::cocktail:On NCL you can purchase full bottles of Alcohol for $99 - $139, they keep the bottle at the main bar with your name on it & you go for a drink when you like. It seems quite dear, $99 for a $ 15 bottle of rum or vodka but consider 15 drinks at cruise ship prices is over $ 200. This might be a good strategy if you like a drink or two a day and especially for the longer cruises.

This must be a recent change by NCL. My experience has always been that you order a bar setup online before the cruise. Your bottle is delivered to your cabin with six mixers of your choice. You can also go to a bar to pick up a cup of limes or olives. You then mix your drinks in the cabin. :)

If you call the NCL 800 number and ask for the bon voyage bar setup delivered to your cabin, they will tell you the prices or they will email you a price list. Make sure you have them email you a receipt to take onboard just in case. If you are in a suite they will usually give you more mixers as needed. Other cabins the limit is six.

Hope this helps.:)
