Midges?

It depends on how far inland you're going- I've been bitten in next-door Sweden working on camp sites in forests in August, but midges, mozzies, horse flies don't seem to travel too near to the coast.

When I lived next to the sea in the UK, I never was bitten, but when I moved five miles away into woodland, I had constant bites if I didn't take precautions, and I'll be packing some stuff before we go to Norway in autumn, because we have several excursions which are going inland.
