Atm in the casino?

Is there an atm in the casino on the vista? Just wondering in case we need extra cash. I hate traveling with more than we need.

If you are wanting the money to gamble, it would probably be cheaper to use your sign and sail card rather than the ship's ATM.

In the Atrium Lobby near the GS Desk, and near the Cashier's cage in the Casino. Both have hefty fees. I usually just take a certain amount, and leave it locked in the safe.

According to the paper I posted they are on deck 5 across from the shops and in the casino on deck 4. I don't recall seeing one by GS, but they do have a self service kiosk right by GS.

a $6 fee for withdrawing $500 is only 1.2%

Using your Sign and Sail is going to cost you 3%

On my 8 day cruise on the Vista, the ATM's were never out of cash.

While this is true, the bank where the account is held may also charge a fee which would cause the 1.2% to increase. I would suggest the OP find out from their bank if they charge such a fee and then proceed from there.

If you're getting $200 than the fees are a wash (aside from bank charges if charged). Anything less than $200 you should use the casino and pay the 3%. Additionally, the money withdrawn from the casino get applied to your S & S card (and ultimately the credit card used to secure the account) WITHOUT incurring a cash withdrawal fee from the card. If you have a credit card that offers rewards, that is another consideration vs. using the ATM.

To me it would seem more troublesome to need to withdraw extra cash from an ATM or your Sign n Sail card when you could just bring it from home.

Why not just have what you need with you? IF you have money left at the end of the cruise then that's just some you can spend at home.

question for anyone who has used the ATM aboard a Carnival ship. does it register to your bank as an ATM in the U.S.A. or does it register as an ATM in a foreign country. i have an ATM card that will pay any ATM fees that incur from using an ATM in the U.S.A.

It registers as USA. My bank also refunds my ATM fees so I used the ATM on board whenever I need and figure I'll just get a surprise refund in my bank account the next month.

if you want to access cash without fees, you can use this trick once or twice.

Load how much you want onto a slot machine on your sign and sail, and then just cash it out at the cage. Slot machine doesn't charge a transaction fee!
