jmdx2 Posted August 11, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2017 Does anyone know if they will make an exception if you have a special diet? I pretty much know what to eat and will be fine with food, but I drink a special version of coffee creamer that is only almond milk and coconut milk. Can I bring me own on board? They will not care if you bring your own on board.

counsdr Posted August 11, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 11, 2017 You can also contact special needs and ask if they can get it for you. They give me an extension cord and distilled water for my CPAP.

I assume that it is shelf-stable? If you need refrigeration, you should ask your cabin steward for twice daily ice, and keep it in the ice bucket. The mini-frig will not keep things cold, just barely cool.
Krickett Posted August 12, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 12, 2017 I always bring Coconut milk onboard with me, no problems so far. I have brought the shelf stable one already opened and the refrigerated one as well, both have kept for 7days in the "fridge" no problem; will be trying 14 days this year, hope it works out ok too:)

Thank you that is good information. My husband uses a cpap but doesn't bring it on the cruise due to the distilled water. I spend most of my nights listening to him snore. We are doing a B/B and all I can think about is 14 nights of little sleeping. Thank you again.

They are so popular now that you can find distilled water wherever you go! In Austria one must buy it in a pharmacy, in Italy, a grocer sells it as deionized water. My supplier told me if you can't find distilled water to use bottled water and wash out your humidifier tray so the minerals don't build up! Enjoy your peaceful nights this cruise!!! SRF Posted August 12, 2017 #10 Share Posted August 12, 2017 I would contact Special Needs about it if you need it. Bring it, but let them know ahead of time, and carry a copy of the email saying it OK. Better safe than sorry.

Wow, he would rather put his life at risk (from the apnea and causing sleepless nights for you) rather than use ship water (which is pretty close to distilled water to begin with) or ask about distilled... Glad you know now.
