Argentina reciprocity fee

It was removed before the Olympics. Otherwise, the Rio Olympics would have been empty of spectators rather than partially empty of spectators.

Rio is in Brazil, not Argentina.

The fee in Argentina was removed after a business oriented administration won in Argentina. The also allowed the paso to float to proper exchange level. The two changes made it much more attractive for Americans, and others to visit.

President Obama negotiated the elimination of the "reciprocity fee" with the president of Argentina for US citizens and since August 2016 no fee is levied. US citizens only. We cruised Antarctica out of Ushuaia south of the Antarctic Circle this past February and no fee.
