new website opinions

I like it. Easy to compare same cabin category over a set time frame. Have had no problems at all.

I also use one browser for RCL viewing only. I normally use Waterfox (64 bit version of Firefox). I now have Edge set up to www.rccl.com as the home page. Then every time I close it, I have it set to clear the cache and cookies. Absolutely no problem viewing my reservations, searching or logging in. Since there are so many different browsers, it's easy to have one dedicated site just to eliminate the frustrations.

I've been in IT since 1979 and can say with confidence that what we are seeing with both the RC and Celebrity sites is the result of a contractor (Accenture?) off-shoring the work to developers with little or no experience in the cruise industry. The sites are both improving slowly but surely but it seems they were released before they were ready - probably to meet some contractual deadline.

At first, even after you guys mentioned this was RCCL's site, I couldn't figure out what in the world you guys were talking about. I guess my Firefox must have the old site cached or something because it looks exactly the same as it did before. Went and checked it out in Chrome and I have to say, I am not a fan of the new design. The grid with all of the prices for all the categories for all the sailings was much easier for comparisons. Unless you have a specific sailing and/or category picked out this makes it harder to compare. This is definitely more geared towards mobile/tablet users which honestly is the way things are going in the industry so it doesn't surprise me.

Yeah it defo is the way most sites are going, but I dont like it either, it over-simplifies things and I like to be precise when I book my cruises

This is beyond pathetic. It doesn't even manage to hold a log-in through the search process. So the searches come up with no discounts applied based on anything. You have to manually re-enter the Crown & Anchor number, and state, and anything else when going through the # cabins/# passenger screens on a search.

It's just pitiful how difficult it is to even get anything accurate anymore from RCL's web site.

It's pretty. About all I can give it. But it's getting to be useless. It wastes screen real estate. Hides useful information within slide-out displays. Provides no way to perform any level of intelligent searching, such as being able to indicate a cabin type preference so one sees prices based on that requirement instead of always seeing the lowest inside cabin price. And don't get me started about their purposeful exclusion of using the # of passengers up front when showing pricing "per-person".

Just when you think RC's IT geniuses couldn't mess things up any more....they do! Checking cruises and pricing is so convoluted, you have to wonder if they are trying to discouraged folks from price checking and booking on line and forcing us to call and wait and wait and wait for someone to answer.

I suspect their thinking is that if they can't fix the old problems then they might as well create some new ones to keep them busy. It is called job security.

LOL!! Agree....I always figure it must be a fun thing to do for the RCI tech demons  to mess with us. I figured out a long time ago they probably do this just to frustrate us, trying to keep us from monitoring pricing on our booked cruises.

And then they read Cruise Critic to see how successful they were in their endeavor.

this date thing annoys me. i know when looking at a cruise today that august means 2018 but not to have the date on the 'bars' listing the months just seems crazy

so is there never a time where there are 2 of the same month available. i can just see someone booking oct 2017 when they thought was 2018. how hard is it to code the year next to the date in the bar graph
