Rare BecciBoo Posted September 30, 2017 #26 Share Posted September 30, 2017 First choice definitely the Renaissance on 17th street causeway, extremely close to the cruise terminal, great area and safe, walking distance to restaurants, nice rooms. Second, Hilton Marina, although more outdated a great hotel to be at also and right near the port also. We also stayed here, great view of the port and walked a few yards to fantastic food at the Bimini Boatyard, great food fantastic marina view of sailboats! Walgreens right across the street for wine etc. quick taxi to port cost us $

Clarea Posted September 30, 2017 #29 Share Posted September 30, 2017 For those who stayed at the Springhill suites, what time did the shuttle take you to the port? As I recall, there were 2 or 3 shuttle choices.

sellwingri Posted August 10, 2018 #32 Share Posted August 10, 2018 We stayed at Embassy Suites last year & it was great!Cocktail hour in the aft., breakfast in the morning, walk to grocery & restaurants! Charlene I absolutely love Embassy Suites and the perks but it’s $100 more than other hotels in the area. We’re staying at Hotel Morrison in Dania Beach. It has wonderful reviews and all the perks we need (free breakfast, WiFi, shuttle, etc) They offer free shuttle to the pier but we prefer to take a taxi and avoid the crowds. Sitzmark Posted August 10, 2018 #33 Share Posted August 10, 2018 Looking for suggestions for a hotel in fort Lauderdale the night before my cruise. The embassy suites is getting good reviews. Any other hotel suggestions. Mark badger Pier 66 was nice, the room was a little dated 2 years ago, but I think there may have been some remodeling happening. The pool area was very nice and the pool bar/grill was pretty good. There was a screw up with the bill from the pool bar, but the front desk took care of it very quickly. There is also a nice little grill out in the marina on a raised deck. We drove and there was supposed to be a daily parking fee at the hotel, but for some reason it never showed up on the bill. Not sure if this was a mistake or if perhaps the policy had changed.
SevenSeas1492 Posted August 10, 2018 #34 Share Posted August 10, 2018 We always stay at Embassy Suites. When we were there in May, they were doing some work on their pool, so it was closed. Will be anxious to see what all they’ve done to that area. We love the hotel. It is conveniently located to restaurants, and the Sun Trolley stops right down the street and will take you to the beach or to a large shopping mall. molsonschooner Posted August 10, 2018 #35 Share Posted August 10, 2018 All of the above and the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina. I was also pleasantly surprised by the Riverside in Las Olas. While it's an older hotel, you can't beat the location when exploring the area. we stayed at the Riverside last summer. We would stay there again, no issues at all. Plus, it is right beside the Cheesecake factory.
boscobeans Posted August 10, 2018 #36 Share Posted August 10, 2018 There are plenty of hotels in Ft. Lauderdale that offer shuttles to and from ports and airports. For a one night stay, all we need is a pool, bar and a quick ride to any number of restaurants. Do a search, look at the descriptions and ratings, make a list of a few within your budget and come on back to see what the members think. bosco
GRO Posted August 10, 2018 #37 Share Posted August 10, 2018 Only one choice... Lago Mar. On the ocean. An undiscovered jewel [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Forums Agree. Have stayed there a few times. Great resort and only 5 minutes from the pier.

We are booked into Pier 66 pre cruise, the hotel changed ownership in October, We booked in January and the reviews were not great but since April on they have been good. Really looking forward to our stay.
Pellaz Posted August 10, 2018 #39 Share Posted August 10, 2018 If you're driving in, there are a few hotels that offer free parking during the cruise along with a free shuttle to (and sometimes back from) the pier. We use the Quality Inn Cruiseport South in Hollywood/Dania Beach. The cruise terminal parking fees we save by staying and parking at the hotel pay for the room, making it a no-brainer. The hotel is also walkable to restaurants and right near a large shopping area including a K-Mart (!).....and a BJ's Warehouse liquor store, which is open to all. ;p
SoundDawg Posted August 20, 2018 #40 Share Posted August 20, 2018 Pier 66 for great views. Springhill Suites in Dania Beach is less expensive and has free airport shuttle and free shuttle to cruise ship. Another good place to check is the Florida Departures forum: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=672 Hi! I've noticed you've recommended Springhill Suites in several posts. Is there anything in walking distance from there like bars/restuarants and a place to get wine? Thanks!!
