If NCL cancel the cruise and I didn't get the insurance (kicking myself!) do you know what I will be offered? Will I get a credit for another cruise or do they refund you if they cancel? Worst case is you'll go to other than your planned destinations and/or leave port and go basically nowhere. No refunds either. With a "home port" being is such a mess, you are venturing into unknown territory. I would guess, that if you were even sitting in the meeting room at NCL - the answer would be very fuzzy. You can be almost 100% sure that the ship will sail the week you are scheduled to be on it. The question is where will it sail from and where will it visit. NCL is not going to let the ship sit idle just because San Juan is unusable. If I had to guess they will switch it to either a Miami or Tampa based cruise and go to the western Caribbean. Sorry, guys, but the cruise line will simply change the embarkation/disembarkation ports and itinerary. No refund. The contract gives them the right to do this. Due to Hurricane Irma the cruise was cancelled 5 days prior to departure. My credit card was refunded 100% of what paid. NCL also gave a 50% cruise credit towards a future cruise. Yesterday I received another email from them stating that any cruise booked prior to the end of the year would also receive a $75 onboard credit. I found this in the brochure: "Should travel be largely hindered, endangered, or affected due to a force majeure event" "both the guest and Norwegian may cancel the contract" I guess that means that if NCL decide to move the embarkation to another port because of, for example, a natural disaster the guest can cancel and get a full refund. I know that what's in the contract is more important than the fine prints in the brochure so if you know, I would appreciate if you can tell me where in the contract I can find information about it.
