Tell me about casino vip cruises

Recommended Posts

Casino Royale no longer has special rates. They're exactly the same as those offered by the big box agencies. They've also lowered the points you earn at tables. I just got off Oasis yesterday and played Ultimate Texas Holdem for 34 hours (information given to me by the casino manager today via email) at a minimum of $30 per hand up to $70 per hand and was given a free cruise on a 4 or 5 day sailing in an inside cabin. That's what I get for probably $8,000.

I'm livid and asked for a phone number or email address to complain to but...what a surprise....haven't gotten that info.

Is the lack of a Casino rate new this week? I just booked one last week that was about $300 less than the price on the RCL and box store site.

I have had no issue getting full comps and casino rates.

However, I do know that they will not give you a casino rate more than 1 year out.

As stated, they have been very good to me. I have no complaints.

I just call them up.

Not going to quantify your play, but to achieve Club Royale Status takes at minimum of $50 a play. Not $30. Losing $8000 means nothing.

I have to agree, they are really looking for a min avg of $50 to be rated and get future offers. However, I've been told from the host on the Allure that they will consider "Actual Loss" for a current cruise comp if greater than 6k!

Another thing, make sure you ask for your time and avg each time you get up from a table. I've had a pit boss tell me that my avg was $15 on a $25 BJ table on the Harmony a few weeks ago. When I laughed and correct him on it, he adjusted to my actual avg for that session (150 not 15), they make mistakes sometimes, that's why I always ask!

They are definitely still offering casino rates but they compute them completely different than in the past. Now they are combinable with other discounts like C&A balcony discounts, seniors discounts, etc. They take the casino discount LAST after all other discounts have been applied. I'm sure it helps their bottom line. In truth, my casino discounts are greater now than they ever were before. I booked one of the offers for a comp room on the upcoming Thanksgiving Allure cruise. It was an inside room which I later upgraded to a D1 hump balcony for $278 total. The TA and the Club Royale associate really worked to get that rate ! There are 3 different discounts in affect. I think the program is actually improving after a long decline.

I've been a Casino Royale VIP on all 10 of my cruises over the past two years and can guarantee you that my minimum was not $50 so your statement is incorrect. Like I stated, I bet anywhere from $30 to $70 on my Oasis cruise last week. On a cruise on Serenade last year, my minimum bet was as low as $15 and I was given a free cruise in a balcony cabin. I actually amassed 7600 points.

I don't know your situation. I only know mine. But as you stated above. You "amassed" 7600 points, when in fact you need 5k for a balcony comp. (so that makes sense)

In your initial post (when you are SO LIVID) you failed to mention how many points you actually earned? which if you have taken 10 cruises in 2 years, you know the points is the key.

It's average bet (not range) , number of hands and number of hours.

** In fact a range can kill you. for example. it you bet 100 per hand continuously and then play a few hands at $20.00 it will totally change your average** which is why sometimes when I am playing only $100 straight up on a number on roulette I ask them not to track it at all as I know it will lower my comps.. and I sacrifice the time I am playing to yield a higher average bet **

The only time they really factor in large losses for example is if you had walked up to the table. and lost 15k in 20 minutes (while your points would be insignificant, they would look at that as reason to comp you )

ON my last 7 night Allure cruise I amassed 25,000 points. Like yourself I play tons of hours

but my Average bet was $195/ hand at roulette

Now... all this being said. The thing I found surprising is that if you have sailed 10 times in 2 years as a casino royale vip, I an confused why you don't have their phone number or email address as all the "casino" cruises would have been booked through them?

My strong advice, (which I follow myself) Is

a. call casino Royale 1888 561 2234

b. Tell them what sailing you want

c. see what offers you may have

One thing I would also encourage (which is something I also do)

at least every other day I sit down with the casino host and review my play. I have found that

(as others have stated) sometimes it just gets entered wrong. ( not maliciously , it just happens)

For me... The hosts and the pit bosses know what my average be is, and a couple time it showed that I was betting $5.00 per hand (which the casino manager and host new was wrong, and they adjusted)

On day 1 I always introduce myself to both the host and the casino manager,

I typically have good experiences and am pleased with my outcome from club royale.

Again... I can only share my experience and what I have learned that works for me.

I wish you the best of luck sorting this out.

Very informative info. Low bets will impact averaged wagers.

Thanks Pete. I do have the number for Casino Royale. I use them all the time and they're absolutely fabulous. However I was actually looking for a phone number and/or email address to a management group in charge of Casino Royale.

I've been emailing with the Oasis Casino Manager and he suggested calling Casino Royale and asking for cruises that may be available. I know this may not make sense to everyone but it's more of a personal issue now. I've been cruising way too much and gambling too much that I'm taking a break until March when I do B2B cruises to New Zealand and Australia. I was looking more for the discount rather than the free cruise.

I get that it is personal. Have you tried reaching out to the supervisors at club royale. They actually do exist I have spoken to them. Typically they set up a call back. but if you get them, they could escalate...If you have a particular casino host or casino manager that you have a relationship with, they can also reach out on your behalf (if they were so inclined)...

For example, my host on the oasis a couple years ago wanted me on the ship so she reached out to club royale for me to help arrange it. (again, all based on play).

Unfortunately the rules/ programs do seem to be changing a bit for the on board casino. For me it still works out for the better, but .... you situation sounds like it may need some investigating.

Also... I wish it was not true, but It is... Call back and ask again. Casino Royal depends very much on who you talk to... The "ones that have been there a while" understand the limits better of what they can and cant do. And again, the supervisor can review all of your play and help to make exceptions or better deals where they can.

Hope it gets sorted out.

So I booked a cruise yesterday with my free cruise certificate and decided to use the $500 off instead of using it on one of the free cruises (since none of those interested me). Seems like they still take the $500 off of some special Casino rate as opposed to the RCL website rates cause the math didn't add up if they just take it off RCL website prices. I was able to get a non refundable Balcony guarantee on Feb 25th Jewel of the Seas Southern Carribean for $813 (tax + port included). But when I tried doing a mock booking yesterday on RCL's website, it was $1484 for the nonrefundable balcony guarantee. so $500 off of that should be $984 and not $813. Of course I was even more excited to see this morning that RCL assigned my room already and gave us a Superior Ocean View Balcony instead of the smaller Deluxe. That's $2169 if I tried booking nonrefundable rates myself. So the certificates are still pretty useful to us this time. Guess it depends on the sailing you use it on!!!

Take a look at your confirmation and it will tell you exactly how the fare is calculated. They will give you every discount for which you are eligible FIRST (including C&A balcony discounts, senior, state, military, etc.) before taking any casino discount. If they still gave you an actual casino rate, in combination with your certificate value, it will be the first one I've heard of in the recent past. Good for you, if they did.

Hmmm, I see 3 other discounts on there before my $500 Casino discount is shown. Not sure what they are, but they're for $466, $126, and $75, then there's my $500 Casino discount at the very end. Also still got the $75 OBC.

Hello All,

Curious to know if anyone knows whether we will still qualify for Club Royale VIP perks?? We were enrolled in Club Royale on a cruise in October of 2015 - cruised again March of 2016 - with same VIP sticker that entitled us to free drinks + 5% fee waived. Prior to this we were Plantinum Mlife members, so we automatically got this.

We booked a cruise (for Jan 2018) through the casino department and was wondering if we'll be classified as VIP or if we need to accumulate points to get the free drinks & 5% fee waived again - debating whether we should purchase a drink package since majority of our drinking is done in the casino. TIA

In my experience, if Casino Royale booked your cruise for you, you will most likely get the "VIP" sticker, doesn't hurt to call and ask, then you will know for sure! Cheers & Good Luck!
