Labadee Question

We will be going to Ladadee on our Oasis cruise in April 2018. We are trying to figure out an activity to do with our kids, ages 4 and 5. We live 10 minutes from the beach, so we would like to do something else while on vacation. We were hoping to bring them kayaking, but the minimum age is 8 and they don't seem to be flexible with changing the rules. Are there any hiking trails there? Or has anyone had any luck getting an exception to the age rule?

If adults are in the kayak with the kids (if that's possible), it may be allowed....but don't count on it. You could take them jet skiing (as a passenger)...

There are plenty of walking areas....don't know about "hiking" trails, but lots of paths!!!

I would not plan on them waiving the age rules as their insurance may not allow it.

Definitely not on Labadee where they own the operation. i've seen them put arbitrary rules on some of their excursions at other ports that did not come from the operator.

You likely will NOT get an exception to the rule due to insurance liability. Imagine your 4 year old gets seriously injured doing an activity that requires you to be 8 years old or older, but a major cruise line made an "exception." Lawyers would have a field day.

As for other activities, there are some trails you can walk that are interesting. Not really long, but they meander a bit around the higher rock areas. There is also a water park that you can purchase a day use ticket for your kids. No first hand experience, but have read some reviews that weren't always positive. May want to research those.

There is the "Dragon Coaster" and a few other things that aren't water oriented. Other than that, it's a great "beach day."

There are a few trails that your kids probably would enjoy walking. They are not very difficult terrain wise, not particularly long, and don't take you far from the center of things. We usually walk them because we also live on the ocean and don't go on cruises to go to he beach. It is a relaxing way for us to spend an hour or two.
