davetheboss5 Posted November 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2017 Hi everyone, flying into Miami then have an overnight in Fort Lauderdale before joining our ship. Our hotel provides a free shuttle from FLL so I plan taking the Tri Rail train from Mia to FLL then having our hotel shuttle pic us up. Anyone got any better suggestions? 4 adults + luggage staying on Stirling Road Hollywood Thank you
JohninDC Posted November 13, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 13, 2017 UberXL or a mini-van taxi for about $75+ would be a lot quicker and more convenient.
brunello22 Posted November 13, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 13, 2017 Hi everyone, flying into Miami then have an overnight in Fort Lauderdale before joining our ship. Anyone got any better suggestions? 4 adults + luggage staying on Stirling Road Hollywood Thank you The Tri-Rail does not go directly to FLL airport, but rather to the train station (Griffin Road & I-95) that is approximately 10 minutes from FLL. There is a free Tri-Rail shuttle that runs from the train station to FLL, but you are better off either getting an Uber or taxi from the train station to your hotel, as Stirling Road is only 1 exit south of Griffin Road, no more than 10 minutes, and a very inexpensive Uber or taxi. No need to go to the airport unless you really want that free shuttle.
Rare VMax1700 Posted November 13, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 13, 2017 I looked at using TriRail, but decided it was not ideal after a transatlantic flight. We used Larry's Limos several times. The driver will meet you as you exit the airport terminal and take you to his car. Last year we booked a sedan and they sent us a stretch limo (for 2 of us!) no extra charge! Cost including tip was $87. Not much more than Uber, but reliable and recommended! P.S. remember that the luggage trolleys at MIA are not free! (USD 5 as far as I remember) :(
BlueHerons Posted November 13, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 13, 2017 Tri Rail is long and a PIA and definitely not something I'd want to do with a family and luggage. Especially not at night. Uber or Larry's Limo for sure.
BNBR Posted November 13, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 13, 2017 Just to add my vote. Listen to BlueHerons. I would avoid the Tri Rail.
Rare Host CJSKIDS Posted November 13, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 13, 2017 Another local vote for not using the Tri Rail.

lovescarborough Posted November 13, 2017 #9 Share Posted November 13, 2017 Definitely Larrys Limos. You can access their website from the UK. We usually just send an email and they will give you a price and book your car. It's great to have a driver standing waiting for you after the usual nightmare of Miami airport immigration! Rare VMax1700 Posted November 13, 2017 #10 Share Posted November 13, 2017 Here is the link to Larry's http://www.larryslimo.com/ you can use the 'chat' facility to get a quote. Pay the driver in cash when you get there!

BNBR Posted November 13, 2017 #12 Share Posted November 13, 2017 You can always fly through Dublin and pre clear US immigration. :D Or get Global Entry. Last time immigration took me about 1 minute in Miami.
