Anything New/Changed on the Silhouette?

We are scheduled for the March 11 sailing on the Silhouette. Wondering if there are any changes to this ship?

Also asking who might be the current staff in the "World Class Bar" seeing I may be spending some time there.

Is Cellar Masters still the same setup or has it changed themes? A pub perhaps ?

Thanks

Whit

We just got off the Silho yesterday. Of our 13 X cruises this was the worst. Most disappointing. MDR reached a new low. At our table for 6 not a night passed for food undercooked or over cooked. Some dishes were not hot. Wait staff was excellent and apologized for the food. Lobster was not good. Excursion staff knew little about the excursions. Could not answer questions, said would call back never did. Capt hostess very unfriendly. Not a smile or hello as we entered the Elite breakfast. Overall servers were outstanding. Mast grill burgers continue to be excellent. Tuscan grill was good but too much food and we skipped salad and soup. Cheese board and was outstanding with very good gorganzola. Split the 9 oz filet was very food. Martini bar continues to be a highlight. Cabin 2108 was in excellent shape with a good location midship and close to elevators.

Agree with Bee. Same cruise. B2B with Eclipse, It seems most of staff was in training. on Silhoutte./ Especially kitchen. Captains Club hostess could have cared less. Often she was not on door. Non Elites were kicked (escorted), out several times; interesting to watch. Sillie needs a new Hotel/ restaurant manager(s). But everything was great on Eclipse!

Wow. We were on the same cruise and had an entirely different experience. We had select dining at 6 every night and had the same table. We thought the gal seating us was somewhat stressed but efficient and friendly once she recognized us. We sat port side towards the rear at window and loved our wait staff. Darel, Alexes, Natalia and Juan were fabulous! Food was excellent although a couple times the food could have been hotter. I agree about the excursion staff and excursion experience. Unorganized. Our Concierge, Vanessa was wonderful and followed up with our issues to our satisfaction.

Thanks folks for the updates. I hate to concede but may be tempted to try Specialty Dining at least 3 nights. Tuscan for sure.

Saw a pot where it was mentioned Denis is still in WCB. Hope his tenure there lasts till our cruise in March.

Interesting news about Passport Bar changing heme during the day.I always enjoyed it for a pre dinner drink.

Any firther updates or observations will be appreciated.

Was also on the 12/8 - 17th cruise.

Our wait staff in MDR was outstanding, very attentive and quick. Food was just fine and only once was a meal sent back because waiter thought my friend asked for medium rare instead of medium well. We usually ate around 6PM and noticed that the later we ate the more noisy the MDR became. Ate at Tuscan Grill the first night for the 20% off. Food was very good but feel the 20% off was appropriate for what was served.

Our cabin #8255 was great and room attendant was very friendly and quick to get in, clean well, and be out of the room. Tipped her well.

I found the production shows to be good, pianist who did a show was outstanding as well as the three singers who saluted Queen.

Same merchandise being sold onboard as the last few decades, same old trivia, bingo etc. Would like to see more current event lectures like they do on HAL. Went to two of the in services (back pain and getting fit) which offered some useful information but always ended with a sell job for something: sole inserts, acupuncture etc.

Scoops of ice cream/sorbet in Oceanview Cafe are smaller (LOL) and it took three days to get real spoons placed there as opposed to the tiny plastic scoops we were suppose to use. Needless to say, this was not life threatening!!

We found the staff to be friendly and the ship in very good and clean shape. Just became a little bored during the four sea days but enjoyed reading on our balcony and just resting.

The Meet & Mingle probably had about 30+ attending. CD spoke and some officers of the ship attended. Coffee, rolls etc was offered but most of us had just previously finished breakfast. We never introduced ourselves and quickly were rounded up to go do the slot pull.

I found the vessel to be in as good a shape as previously on a cruise on her. The wait staff in the MDR seemed more attentive and social. Even the unusual disembark procedure was handled as well as could be expected.

The MDR is handling DDs allergies well. I forgive a lot if they do that.

Asst Matre'D Webster is good. Emailed the allergen list all over and made sure all knew it.

The head waiter in the buffet knows who she is and what she can have.

There are a lot of large families on board, and they are handling those well. If something specific happens that isn't right, a quiet word to Webster and all is well.
