Shaded Lady Posted January 7, 2018 #26 Share Posted January 7, 2018 new policy?? first time on carnival in years. Instead of having to go through Customs, then security, then line up to set up your S&S account and get the card and only then go into the boarding lounge, the new process bypasses one step- once you go through security you go straight to the boarding lounge and wait to embark. You only need to go to the Carnival check in if you need to put money on a Cash account or some other reason that you need to do a special checkin. You don't get your S&S card until you get to your room (1:30 for all cruisers who are not priority or FTTF). You use your boarding pass onboard for purchases if needed prior to going to your room. Karen While I cannot remember it 100%, I think in July it was the old way. Sent from my iPad using Forums

Kfxduners Posted January 8, 2018 #32 Share Posted January 8, 2018 In Miami yes, but she’s repo-ing to Long Beach that doesn’t have this system in place. When we did our Hawaii trip in October out of Long Beach, the Miracle had the new policy rolling.... It went very quickly and we did not have FTTF, and we are only Gold. Good system =] Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T337A using Forums mobile app

marshhawk Posted January 30, 2018 #35 Share Posted January 30, 2018 Sail and sign in the mailbox, what's to keep some creep from taking your cards? And using them? Do they really run a scan on your picture each time you make a charge?

Do they really run a scan on your picture each time you make a charge? When they scan your boarding pass, your picture comes up. The S&S cards in your mailbox is excellent. When you get your cards, if your envelope is open or tampered with, you go to GS and they take care of the fraudulent charges, simple as that. Would this be considered “special”? We will need to do a switch of rooms because we booked one adult and one teenager in each room. Can we do that during embarkation or will we need to go to guest services after we board?
Kasmir Posted January 30, 2018 #39 Share Posted January 30, 2018 Cruised out of Port Canaveral in Dec, and Tampa in Nov, and you had to go to the counter to get your card! We'll be on a b2b on the Conquest next week, we'll let you know about Ft Lauderdale! Conquest had the new way in December. Cards were in the mailbox when we got on. From what I’ve read this has to happen at Guest Services... unless someone has experienced doing it at check in...
