goldgirl2 Posted January 8, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2018 If our departure is 3:30 in Grand Cayman what time will the last tender leave for the ship? Our excursion is until 2:30. Will we be running......swimming??? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Langley Cruisers Posted January 8, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2018 Well, you will definitely be cutting it close. If your ship departs at 3:30, then "all aboard" is at 3:00, meaning the last tender will probably be maybe 2:45? Like I said, it will be close. I'm sure your excursion guides know when to get you back so try not to worry. Perhaps discuss it with them ahead of time (as in now) and see what they say. GUT2407 Posted January 8, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2018 A bit tight on paper, but I’m sure your tour operators will know when you need to be back. They wouldn’t last long in business otherwise.
TBone2K Posted January 8, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 8, 2018 The ship will wait if any of their excursions are late.
Rjh8842 Posted January 8, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 8, 2018 Did you book the excursion with royal? If so you are safe you are guaranteed back on the ship. If booked another way no garuntee.
Dennis#1 Posted January 8, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 8, 2018 The ship will wait if any of their excursions are late. So they say, but not guaranteed. There is another thread that discusses this.
Merion_Mom Posted January 8, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 8, 2018 There is a one hour time difference on GC
goldgirl2 Posted January 8, 2018 Author #8 Share Posted January 8, 2018 We did not book with the ship. We booked with native way. I was not aware there was a time difference in Grand Cayman. LeeBe Posted January 8, 2018 #9 Share Posted January 8, 2018 Goldgirl, there is no time difference in GC right now, there will be when the States "springs" forward to Daylight Saving Time. Right now GC and the eastern US are on Eastern Standard Time.

Rare countess5 Posted January 8, 2018 #11 Share Posted January 8, 2018 No matter what the difference is or is not, stay on ship time!
SRF Posted January 9, 2018 #12 Share Posted January 9, 2018 So they say, but not guaranteed. There is another thread that discusses this. But if you are on a ship excursion, and don't get back in time, they are responsible for getting you to the ship at the next port.
scubaslayer Posted January 9, 2018 #13 Share Posted January 9, 2018 Where are you sailing from? That makes a difference as well. Out of EST ports it is the same as Grand Cayman, but if sailing from CST, they are an hour ahead of the ship. Meaning is last tender is 2:30 ship time, that is 3:30 Grand Cayman time, but expect a long line when you get back.

That's suppose to be one of the perks of buying excursions through them.....the ship will wait.

ONECRUISER Posted January 11, 2018 #17 Share Posted January 11, 2018 WHAT! That's suppose to be one of the perks of buying excursions through them.....the ship will wait. Very rare but could and has happened under extreme situations...
cb at sea Posted January 11, 2018 #18 Share Posted January 11, 2018 They will wait, as long as they can. If they have to leave without ship's excursion folks, they WILL get you to the next port or home, whichever is next. However, private excursions would go out of business if they made folks miss the ship. So, you're pretty safe either way.
