CruisingSince1982 Posted January 9, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2018 The nightlife is pretty good on NCL, when sailing to the Caribbean. How is it on Bermuda cruises? Is it just as good, or is it more of an older crowd and less partying?

zqvol Posted January 9, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2018 Keep in mind that when any ship overnights in any port there are fewer people on board int eh evenings because a lot of people spend the evening ashore.

We have done the Dawn a few times and there has been the standard ... there has always been the quest (fun for a laugh) ... We have always had Jose & Patti who do a lot of 70's songs, but lots of fun (usually in the atrium) ... he does a great Neil Diamond. I really didn't think it was much different than any other cruise. Jan
Beachiekeen Posted January 9, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 9, 2018 I thought our cruise on the Dawn was the most fun I have ever been on. There was always a place to listen to music which I loved, good shows, Caribbean band at the pool, white-hot party was awesome, etc.
LrgPizza Posted January 10, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 10, 2018 The nightlife on the ship will have more to do with the ship itself. For instance, take the Escape to Bermuda, and you will have live music & action simultaneously in 4 different venues while a deck party is happening upstairs. There are so many options for nightlife. Take a small ship to Bermuda, not nearly as many options.

We will be traveling with two 22-year olds, and I'm just concerned there will be lack of partying (think white hot party, dance parties, etc) due to the typical age of the people sailing. I haven't been to Bermuda on a cruise in 30 years, so my perception may be skewed!!

thistimeplease Posted January 10, 2018 #9 Share Posted January 10, 2018 We traveled twice with 18 yo and 20 yo and they had a blast. Stayed up much later than we did. In fact when asked this year if they wanted to try the Escape, meaning Bermuda a third time, or the Getaway out of Miami they didn't even give it a minute to tell us they wanted to cruise on the Escape to Bermuda again. Guess where their family is headed.
thistimeplease Posted January 10, 2018 #10 Share Posted January 10, 2018 Even when it's in port? Absolutely, you have the Glow Party, Howl at the Moon and other options as well.

LrgPizza Posted January 10, 2018 #13 Share Posted January 10, 2018 Even when it's in port? Absolutely. That nightlife on that ship is awesome. They can always try to scrounge up some nightlife on land while in port if they want, also.
jdvmd Posted January 10, 2018 #14 Share Posted January 10, 2018 There will still be tons of activities onboard. I thought there would be nothing to do but was wrong and actually changed some of our plans on shore because we didn't want to miss out.
robmac330 Posted January 10, 2018 #15 Share Posted January 10, 2018 Even when it's in port? For sure, even when the ship is docked, Dockyard kind of shuts down by 9 or 10pm except for a couple of spots, so there's a lot of nightlife entertainment. We were on Dawn and there were different bands throughout the ship at night, plus usually some kind of karaoke or game show going on in the main lounge before it turned into the nightclub. We sailed in August and it was a good mix of ages, lots of multi-generational families too.
darlene62 Posted January 11, 2018 #16 Share Posted January 11, 2018 LMAO i know I am so LAME....I am in my 50's but still like a party. I went to Bermuda and shared a cabin with a friend in a Haven Suite we invited another friend to dinner in our cabin with the thoughts of hitting the casino and bars on board that night...After dinner we were just talking with the tv on chilling before we ventured out and then OMG no...the movie caught our attention...we needed to see the ending....then OMG another movie came on and we couldn't tear ourselves away....made a few trips to the bar.......lmao maybe even a butler involved.........and then maybe a pizza delivery ...its all such a blur...but I would have to admit that with the balcony door open, hearing the ocean, watching a movie with some awesome friends just finally really relaxing.....it was the best :) A cruise is what you make of it...... I haven't been to Bermuda on a cruise in 30 years, so my perception may be skewed!! We were on the Breakaway at the end of May this year. Most people were back on the ship by dinner. The ferry stops running early except on Harbor Nights (Wednesday). Here’s the demographics (the ship was pretty lively at night): This week's cruise. bam1957 Posted January 11, 2018 #20 Share Posted January 11, 2018 We have been there twice on the Breakaway and going again in May on the Escape. I absolutely love sailing there and staying the 2 1/2 days. One night we went to Bone-fish where they had a Deejay and it was GREAT!!!! There was also so much to do on the ship at night we did not get bored and was sad to leave. I love the atmosphere on the Escape. It's by far my favorite ship but I've only been on Breakaway, Getaway and Escape.
