Hello everyone, we sailed away at about 3:30. Prevention of North up the Hudson River and maybe you turn so passengers could view the Statue of Liberty.

We passed the Verrazano Bridge about 30 to 45 minutes ago.

While enjoying time in Casino Royale, an announcement was made that we would be going back to Cape Liberty. It was suggested that we should cash out our coins immediately. The casino will reopen 30 minutes after we leave the pier again.

It was not announced why would we would be returning but I am assuming is due to a medical emergency.

We are heading to the anchorage position near the pier where the patient will be taken ashore by a small vessel. . .

It has been suggested that we should be South of the Verrazano Bridge again in about 1 hour.

Looks like you have stopped just south of the Verrazano Bridge. Have they made the transfer there?

We were hoping if we just took a half dozen bottles of soda each in our carry on, it would be ok...??

I don't know why I remember some time back reading that bottled soda was a no go. I would take canned soda instead

The Helicopter Medevac by the Coast Guard made the NY Metro area news tonight. They showed some video...

Apparently someone from a ferry caught it on video! But the helicopter did not appear to conduct the evacuation.

New York news showed video of the patient being lifted into an NYPD helicopter and taken to the hospital on Staten Island

We'll have to keep an eye out for that video. The one from the ferry did not show that.

Ahh, just showed up...

ETA: It appears that the video from the ferry shows the helicopter that captured the footage seen in the news story here in this link:

Hello everyone and good morning . . . Welcome to DAY 2 of “LIVE”from Anthem of the Seas. I slept like a baby last night after a delightfuldinner at Jamie’s (Deck 5). I was able to go to the Welcome Aboard show for abit last night. Dennis Charles is the Cruise Director who hosted the event.Anthem of the Seas Orchestra played very well, and comedian Phil Tag was veryfunny. Dennis Charles (CD) informed us that there are over 1000 Junior Cruisers(under 16) on this sailing. Currently Anthem has over 4800 passengers on board.

I walked around an empty ship this morning as I often dojust to take a few photos of some of the public areas. Sometimes it is nice tosee things without 100’s of passengers who I sometimes have to photo shop outof images. Early this morning we were passed by Norwegian Breakaway(22kts). Sheleft New York yesterday but will get to Port Canaveral tomorrow (1PM) while weare taking a slower route south (15kts). There is a lot to do today as a CruiseCritic Meet and Mingle will be at 10AM, The port Shopping Talk at 11, and Ihave a “Secrets to a Flatter Stomach” seminar this afternoon.

The forecast for today is “Lots of sun but still cold” Atleast the seas are very calm and the weather will warm up a little thisafternoon. Tomorrow should be much better. I was able to get the Café Selectcard from La Patisserie (Deck 4) which will allow me 15 Premium coffees. Thatshould hold me for a while.

Here are a few pics. . .
