JoJo5280 Posted January 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2018 I'm new to cruising and am trying to coordinate an Alaskan 2020 cruise for about 10-15 people. I'm being pushed to know exact dates and so I keep checking for when these cruises will be posted, but I've yet to find anything. Do you guys know when cruise lines normally post alaskan cruises? leaveitallbehind Posted January 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2018 I don't know specifically when they would typically be released but I would guess maybe 18 months out. Your group needs to realize we are just coming into the 2018 season and 2019 is posted. But 2020 is still two years off. You can get a rough idea of what the itineraries will look like as they don't change much year over with those general itineraries for that location. They typically run north to south and south to north on alternating weeks and typically tend to be 7-nights in duration. But as to specific dates and prices, you will just have to wait. IMO it's a little early to be too concerned about exact dates anyway. A lot can change with your group between now and then. But since you are new to this and you are looking at assisting with a group, I would recommend contacting a cruise specialist Travel Agent and have them work with you. They are the experts and will be the first to know of itinerary and price releases for the different cruise lines. Or if you have a specific cruise line or two in mind, contact then directly and talk their group bookings representative.
CruiserBruce Posted January 21, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2018 2020 Alaska for most cruise lines won't be out until later this year. Start looking around November. But it does vary by cruise line...all the schedules may not be out until February 2019.
Rare Keith1010 Posted January 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 21, 2018 CruiserBruce has this right. The focus of the cruise lines is to sell 2018 and 2019 Alaska Cruises so for many you will not see 2020 until later this year. Keith

Royal Caribbean would normally release those in the March/April 2018 timeframe.
JoJo5280 Posted January 21, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted January 21, 2018 Okay thank you for the help everyone! I'll tell my friends and family that they'll just have to wait for a while :)
Rare Keith1010 Posted January 22, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 22, 2018 Patience on this one is a virtue. Again my experience is that most of the lines don't come out with them for awhile so they can push the next two years of Alaska Cruises. SadieN Posted January 22, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 22, 2018 The itins don’t change much. While you’re waiting, the group can decide which one you want. Cruise line, round trip, one way with a land tour, which port to leave out of (Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles), length.
