Question From a Newbie re fountain drinks

Hello, Everyone!

 

We are taking our first Holland America cruise in February, and we haven't taken a cruise in many years, as we usually do land trips. My husband is a big Diet Coke drinker during the day (saving alcohol for the evening :) I see that there is a Fountain Drink package. In your experience, is this worth the price? Do fountain drinks, ice tea, and coffee come "free" at meal time, or is there always a charge for your drinks with the meal?

As to your last question, iced tea and regular coffee are at no charge. Fountain drinks have a charge for them.

But when you get a fountain drink -- you pay.

I drink Diet Coke as well and usually buy the 25.00 card, as it gets you 50.00 worth of fountain drinks. It usually lasts me the week and whatever is left is credited back to my onboard account on the last night.

I drink very li ttle soda but I think it cost $1.95 for a can of diet coke I only had one or two so I might be off.

 

That includes auto tip that is added.

I bring a 6 pack or 2 on board at embarkation and top-up at ports of call. HAL allows you to bring on as much soda as you want.
