Live on the Norwegian Epic Starting March 31

In a little over a month, my family and I will embark on a seven-day Western Caribbean cruise aboard the Norwegian Epic!

The itinerary includes Great Stirrup Cay (NCL’s private island), Grand Cayman (hopeful we will get to tender), Falmouth, and Cozumel. We haven’t been to any of these places before except for Cozumel, and we couldn’t be more excited! This will be our third time in Cozumel, so we pretty much know the ropes.

We are flying down two days before the cruise and staying in a hotel close to Port Canaveral. We always like to do this to eliminate the risk of missing the cruise due to delays! That would suck! This also gives me a chance to go down to the port to take some pictures of ships sailing out the day before ours!

On the day of the cruise, we’re gonna get an early start (well at least I am), so that we can get to the port as soon as possible. Even if we’re early, they will sit us in the Haven waiting area where they will have refreshments and snacks! We also like to go early because one person in our party will be traveling in a wheel chair. Arriving early will cut down on the chance of us having to play chicken with people in the terminal! If you happen to be on the same cruise as us, look out for all four of us in our matching shirts! They will have the Cruise Everyday logo on the back, and a picture of lady Epic on the front! If you see us don’t be shy to say hi!

Once on board, we will be escorted to the Haven restaurant, where we will be served lunch. This will be new for us as we haven’t sailed on any ships with a Haven of the Epic’s magnitude. You can be sure to read all about our thoughts on the food and the experience!

We booked suite 16021, which is a two bedroom Haven Family Villa. We sailed in one of these last April on the Jade and absolutely loved it. It is just right for us. It’s right next to the Haven and the elevators, so it won’t be a far walk to go anywhere.

Although I have been called crazy many times, I love to get up early when on vacation. Especially on cruises! You get to experience a quiet ship, along with a few other early birds. My favorite thing to do is grab a cup of coffee, watch the sunrise, and write my blog post for the day! I also like to snap a few pictures, since sunrises at sea are like no other.

Some of our plans on-board include eating at Teppanyaki, attending the Cruise Critic Meet and Greet (which I have gotten the privilege to organize), going on a bridge tour, enjoying the Haven, and celebrating a birthday (shhh it’s a surprise)!

I will be posting a blog post live from Epic every single day! They will include pictures, food reviews, show reviews, service reviews, port/excursion reviews, and just some random thoughts! Be sure to follow all of my social media to be notified as soon as a blog post goes up!

I will also be posting many pictures on my social media accounts! We’ve stepped our picture game up this cruise and bought a drone! That could be good or bad, but we’ll see! We still have to learn how to fly, and even then it might be risky.

We CANNOT wait for this much needed cruise, and I especially can’t wait to share it with all of you! Be sure to follow along live as #cruiseverydaygoesEPIC!

Can't wait to read your review. We'll be on the Epic out of Barcelona this fall.

PS: Your drone will probably be confiscated. See #22 on NCL's list of prohibited items.

We were in the Haven 2 BR suite last week, the room right next to yours (16023). We LOVED that location and the Epic's Haven. Even though it isn't one of the newest NCL ships the Epic's Haven offers so much. You may give up a few bells and whistles in the main ship areas but the Epic's Haven makes up for it! We had Jane as our butler and she was so sweet. It was so hard to say goodbye to her. Hanno was our concierge and we loved hearing his stories from his childhood in Germany. We were home only 2 days and booked the same suite for next year on the Epic.

Enjoy your Epic vacation!!!

My family and I, total of 11, will be on the same cruise. I'll try to follow this leading up to the 31st so I might can join you for the CC meetup. We are tyring to upgrade into the Haven but have been told it's sold out

Looking forward to your review. We were in 16027, a two bedroom suite, in January. The weather for our cruise was a bit chilly, so Posh and the Courtyard Grill were frequently uncomfortable. We still had a great time, though. Some advice for embarkation: The Haven reception area at Port Canaveral is all the way to the back and to the left. After we went through security, we asked several attendants where the Haven area was, and none of them gave us the correct answer. We went through several lines that we did not have to be in.

Some disembarkation advice: Get a porter. They take you around all the lines, straight to a immigration agent and you are out within minutes. If you have any pre-cruise questions that I can try to answer, just ask. Have a great cruise.

You should probably rethink that drone. I'm sure that would be a great video but I doubt you would even be able to sneak it on and I'm sure once you bring it out to fly they will be all over you.

PS: If you do get a video I would love to see it.

YES!!!! THIS! I was just on the Epic last week. If anyone does the easy walk off disembarking with their own bags, take advantage of the porters! For just a tip they will circumvent the long, winding customs inspection line and whisk you right out to the customs agent. What would have taken an hour took all of two minutes!

It also appears that I have become a victim of autocorrect as "risky" was changed to "risque":o

we will be boarding 7 April for the transatlantic back to Barcelona but flying out to Orlando tomorrow for a week in the sun with Florida friends prior

will be following your adventures in particularly favourite bartenders!

As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I managed to sneak my drone on board the ship. As promised, I took some drone footage and pictures of Epic. It was extremely nerve-racking because we knew that we weren’t supposed to, but how could we resist? The airspace around the ship was protected, so it wouldn’t let me fly around it. I did get some pretty EPIC shots if I do say so myself. Check them out below!
