missholly24 Posted March 14, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 14, 2018 I am looking to book next year Feb. for our yearly cruise. I find no sailings over 6 days and only a few ships go to HMC (aka the greatest place on earth). What is happening!!!??? Please don't say they are pushing Amber no beach Cove....I will legitimately cry. Half the reason we come back to Carnival over and over is HMC. I understand that may not be rational but albeit its true. Heald said anything re: this? I'm sure he's been asked. I did a quick search, no results. Everything always come down to money, so I'm guessing money....and no dock. :loudcry::loudcry::loudcry::loudcry::loudcry:
dmdiver Posted March 14, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2018 I don't know what the deal is with HMC, but I noticed that some are now stopping at Princess Cay.
Lottacruises Posted March 14, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 14, 2018 It's being added as a stop on the freedom for the Bahamas cruises. I don't think it's going away
missholly24 Posted March 14, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted March 14, 2018 Does Princess Cay have a beach? I don't know much about that place. I don't see Freedom on the Cruisett site for HMC, but that is good they are adding it. I'm looking for the traditional 7 day options :(
Rare PrincessArlena'sDad Posted March 14, 2018 #5 Share Posted March 14, 2018 Pride out of Baltimore often stops there. I know we are in August Sent from my SM-G930P using Forums mobile app

disneylover89 Posted March 14, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 14, 2018 I was wondering the same thing. I have only seen 5 days or less sailings that go to HMC and the sailing always include the Bahamas.
teknoge3k Posted March 14, 2018 #9 Share Posted March 14, 2018 We're going to HMC in May on the Magic. Our stops are Grand Turk, HMC, Aruba and Curacao.

elainemasey61 Posted March 14, 2018 #11 Share Posted March 14, 2018 Princess Cay does have a beach, a place to rent water equipment, large dining hall for burgers/dogs etc, bars, bathrooms, souvenir shops. You have to tender in. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Barbees61011 Posted March 14, 2018 #12 Share Posted March 14, 2018 I think it may have something to do with the ships moving ports next year? I don’t think they’ve finalized where each ship is going to be as far as Home ports go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

marshhawk Posted March 15, 2018 #14 Share Posted March 15, 2018 We are doing a 7 day out of Jacksonville in May-HMC, Grand Turk and Amber Cove.( Fantasy Class ship) We were booked on a cruise for next year that would have taken us to Princess Cay (Eleuthera Island) but changed the cruise. Now heading to Eastern Caribbean.
lcpagejr Posted March 15, 2018 #15 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Problem is Carnival doesn't have its own Private Island.... Piggy backs off the other lines (HAL and Princess) islands. I guess its helpful they are all owned by the same Corporation!!
AnonomissX Posted March 15, 2018 #16 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Since Princess Cay is under the Princess line usually, here is a link from their site that describes it, perhaps a visit to that private island if no HMC is available would do: https://www.princess.com/excursion/exlistfordestination.do?portid=RSD&t=C&exType=S
missholly24 Posted March 15, 2018 Author #17 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Thanks for all the suggestions and info! I will have to find an alternative I suppose. My cruises over the last several years have been in the cold months on 7 day cruises to Eastern Carib including HMC leaving from Florida ports (easiest to fly into and leave out of from Michigan). I am seeing that will be changing for next year and probably years to come! I do like Royal Caribbean's Labadee-maybe that is the fix. Nothing compares to HMC though....:(
Micahs Grandad Posted March 15, 2018 #18 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Wish they would expand HMC to have room for two ships or Carnival building its own private island. Would love to go there more often.

arpie05 Posted March 15, 2018 #21 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Can I ask - What did you like about it?? We thought it was boring. The best part was the tender ride back and forth. How is it any different than Grand Turk? I loved Grand Turk because of the pool option.

Rasvar Posted March 15, 2018 #23 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Holland America cruise line is using HMC during winter months. This is correct. Half Moon Cay is technically the HAL island. But, they really only have a lot of Carribean cruises in the winter. Carnival uses it in the summer when HAL is really not around to use it. coevan Posted March 15, 2018 #24 Share Posted March 15, 2018 For what it's worth, Princess Cays is not a private island. from wikipedia: Princess Cays is a tourist resort at the southern end of the island of Eleuthera, Bahamas. It is owned by Princess Cruises, who use it as a port-of-call on cruises in the Caribbean. Which would make it a private island.
