I need some very specific smoking info for the Getaway

I am cruising with a large lot and some of them are smokers. I have kind of taken on the role of leading this group and the smokers are bugging me about locations. I know that the casino offers smoking areas if you are playing but I'm curious where the other areas are. Any bars that let you sit and smoke while drinking? Port side? Starboard side outdoor? Just would like to know all the locations. Thanks.

There is a bar on the waterfront that you can smoke at. I believe on the left side.

Just off the Getaway today. Deck 15 mid deck has a smoking area that is kind of boxed off. It's near the adults only pool and close to the bar.

Here's what I can remember from Feb cruise....

 

* Cigar bar ( nasty as hell, small room. If you're going to humiliate smokers and stick them in a tiny room at least they could get the ventilation correct)

* Bar outside... I think it's called the Sunset bar

* Right next to the pool there was a clear windowed tent

* H2o adult area... all next to the bar... nice chairs and most comfortable area IMO

* In most of the casino, at the slots. non smoking section was very small.

 

Snide comments about smoking such as above follow your nose drives me crazy! I find people who drink beer to smell worse than a smoker but no one comments on how the drunk smell!!

 

Enjoy your cruise and tell your fellow group members, from a fellow smoker, it's not hard at all to find a place on the Getaway

People don't comment on beer drinkers smell A. Because it's nowhere near the stench of a heavy smoker who takes no precautions not to smell and B. It's not effecting the health of those around them if they can smell beer.

 

Personally I wouldn't be rude to a smoker and know several. I just find the assertion that people drinking beer smell worse to be pretty silly. Just because it's your opinion, doesn't mean it's the norm in any sense.

Cigarette smoking is NOT allowed in the cigar bar.

Well, I can say that if that is a rule, it is not enforced and I saw only one person smoking a cigar in there....probably because of the price they charge for the cigars. Anyway, the ashtrays were full of cigarette buts.

I don't smoke anymore but walked past the cigar lounge many time a day and there were always cigarette smokers in there.

We absolutely loved the ship. We "felt" the Epic while she was sailing last year but didn't feel the Getaway at all. Friendly staff everywhere we went. We are not fans of smokers (sorry) but the only place we found bothersome was down wind of the smoking cube on deck 15.

This was my observation as well, everyone smoked in there.

Same as the smoking rules which makes little sense other than non-smokers thinking vapers are smoking

 

And because the aerosol mist from vaping contains harmful substances, including nicotine, diacetyle, benzene, nickel & lead.

Hi :)

I don't smoke - haven't done so for nearly 6 years and I don't even think about it now. I do however, still like to hang out with the smokers on a cruise ship. There is always a camaraderie with smokers - I don't like the smell - but I don't really care and enjoy the laughs. The Getaway I can tell you is terrific for smokers. The Sunset Bar, which is accessible on one of the main decks (think its 7 cant recall) - Anyway, from indoors there, you can go outdoors to the bar on the waterfront and believe me, smokers are very happy indeed out there. That wee bar is often thriving when all else closes down - I so loved the Getaway and really missed the Waterfront and its smoking bar on our next cruise on the Epic.

Also, Spice H20 has plenty smoking tables, and you can smoke at the casino.

To be honest, I felt smoke was by far more evident on the Epic as I could smell it from Taste dining room and as much as I love to enjoy the craic with smokers, I don't want to smell it when I am eating. I never noticed it on the Getaway indoors.

Your friends will be more than happy .. honestly ..

Oh and there is also a cigar bar indoors - I think that too is by the sunset lounge -

I didn't go in there - I do have my limits haha!

Have a super cruise - would sail the Getaway again in a heartbeat - got to go on Epic (again) next cruise - so wish it was an Away ship :(
