Perry Grant?

He entertains himself mostly. Can't stand the guy and was pleased to learn he was longer on Celebrity ships. Thankfully I missed him two years ago when I was on Royal Princess.

He's a Marmite kind of guy, and I hate Marmite

I get the Marmite comment and I'm not English. :D

Love him or not....I guess you have to tolerate his style & sense of humor.

Totally agree with Barbels. I saw him for the first time in December and I have been Perry-ized! Booked my April 9th cruise JUST to go back and see him again before he crosses the pond and heads back to Crystal. His "fan" club onboard certainly welcomed me with open arms. He is, by far, the best Entertainer on the high seas imho. As a side note, I lost my 13.5 yr. old dog 30 days after returning from the Dec. cruise and the ONLY thing that brought a smile to my face in the (still) dark days and nights was watching Perry's videos online. How can you say he isn't talented? He plays the piano with one hand and the keyboard with the other...at the same time!!!. He knows all the music by heart. I would take 1/10th of that talent! To each his own. I LOVE Perry and his act!

Thank you to everybody for your input. I appreciate everyone’s perspective on Perry G and now my curiosity is piqued.

I am kind of young, but LOVE Liberace and even saw him and met him when I was 10 years old, so now I can’t wait to see his show.

The cornier the better. Also, I was the only kid who loved Lawrence Welk. You could say I live in the past.

Once again, thank you. [emoji3]

I know what Marmite is, but your remark makes no sense? I guess no sense of humor would likely be your game. Saw the guy on Eclipse & we loved him, shtick & all.

British humour never quite translates across the pond I guess.

Perry Grant is not for everyone. In fact, he's been our least favorite entertainer in Crooners across our 14 Princess trips. It depends on your age range and musical preferences. Seems to only play old standards and is over the top cheesy with bad jokes. I much prefer the big voices who play more contemporary pieces such as Joey Yates.

But, from what I saw on Royal in February he has quite a large following that even seems a bit like groupies. It's funny to watch that element. I may just be in the minority.

You are not in the minority....we were on a cruise earlier this year and ran into some of his fans at dinner.....we never heard of the guy but they would not stop talking about him at dinner....they likened him to Liberace (we saw Liberace perform several times in Las Vegas)....we decided to check his act out and quickly learned he was NO Liberace by any means and we could not figure out why they almost would wet their pants talking about him....they guy would never make it in the real world if people had to PAY to hear him in Las Vegas, etc!....however we were highly entertained by his fans and groupies....it was mind boggling....:D

To each his own. I'll never understand why people sit in the casino day and night and yes, I WOULD pay to go see Perry.

He has played for Malcolm Forbes, Prince Charles & Diana, at The Park Lane Hotel, The Savoy, etc. He has also accompanied notable Hollywood MGM legends including Ann Miller, June Allyson, Debbie Reynolds, Jane Powell. But as I said...to each his own.

You are obviously not one of the younger (or even middle aged) cruisers sought by cruise lines because they tend to spend more money aboard (known as increasing onboard revenue). What is really sad is that I also know who those folks are (I should say "were" since most are dead). Consider that Jane Powell made her last movie in 1958 (although she had a few guest appearances into the 70s), Like I said earlier, Perry has a great Plastic Surgeon! The next time he asks me, "who are you wearing" perhaps I will come back with "who does your face?"

Ha-Ha, you could not be more wrong. I just turned 60!!! Not sure what your definition of "younger" (or even middle aged) is??????? And I have heard that the bar revenues in Crooners increase when Perry is at the Piano.

He's ON A CRUISE SHIP and there is a reason for that!!!! He probably would be unemployed if he tried to make a living in NYC, Las Vegas, London, etc.....everyone you mentioned is dead except Prince Charles and Allyson.....I will give him credit for still being alive though....our friends and others who went to see him because some of his fans just drooled at the mentioned of his name left very early into his act because it was very mediocre.....:(
