doones2 Posted April 8, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2018 Anyone know if my husband has to bring all his bottles of medication with him or can he use one of those plastic days of the week containers. We will be driving to the port
Deb and Jack Posted April 8, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 8, 2018 No need for the bottles, I've been on over 10 NCL cruises and always used the weekly cases but i always bring a few extra pills in a ziplock or separate case just in case of delay or emergency, one less thing to worry about. Enjoy your cruise. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Forums mobile app
Oakman58 Posted April 8, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2018 I've always used the plastic days of the week containers for all of our cruises and land trips.
Rare BirdTravels Posted April 8, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 8, 2018 Plastic pill minders are fine. If you have stuff that looks like drug paraphernalia like syringes, you may what to have a copy of the prescription.
roger001 Posted April 8, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2018 I only bring them in the daily plastic things. However, if you are carrying prescribed narcotics, pain stuff, then the bottles would be a very good thing to have......just in case.
bbryan5 Posted April 8, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 8, 2018 As stated above, some meds BY LAW must be in their prescription bottles.
Rare www3traveler Posted April 8, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 8, 2018 I bring my prescriptions in their original containers in case I would need the information in case of an emergency. I put my prescription bottles in a quart freezer bag and they sit at the very top of my backpack.

cb at sea Posted April 8, 2018 #9 Share Posted April 8, 2018 You can use the daily planner container. Unless you're bringing copious amounts of narcotics, no one will blink and eye.
RD29P5 Posted April 8, 2018 #10 Share Posted April 8, 2018 If you need to take meds off the ship it might be a good idea to take the bottle for whatever prescriptions need to be carried off. As most have said however the weekly pill container's work just fine.

MandyMommyof2 Posted April 8, 2018 #12 Share Posted April 8, 2018 The plastic containers with the days of the week have worked for my husband in the past. His of course were basically maintenance meds (blood pressure, acid reflux meds). If we were to have to take prescribed narcotics, I would leave them in their original bottle. ray98 Posted April 8, 2018 #13 Share Posted April 8, 2018 You may get by with a pill organizer but the only correct answer is to have them in their prescription bottles. Some med, especially controlled substances are illegal to possess without a prescription so if questioned that must be proven.
FLAHAM Posted April 8, 2018 #14 Share Posted April 8, 2018 I always take pills aboard in the plastic weekly containers. However, in my wallet I carry a list of my medications, what the daily dose is, and the name and phone no. of the prescribing physician.
tonit964 Posted April 8, 2018 #15 Share Posted April 8, 2018 You will not have a problem. I always take the weekly pill holder, never an issue. I have never seen anyone being stopped to take out their meds. I can't imagine the screeners asking you to take them out and provide proof of what they actually are. There is a good probability, most of the cruise population are on one kind of medication or another. If they really need to know what the pills are, each one has an identifier on them.
