I bring my prescriptions in their original containers in case I would need the information in case of an emergency. I put my prescription bottles in a quart freezer bag and they sit at the very top of my backpack.

If you need to take meds off the ship it might be a good idea to take the bottle for whatever prescriptions need to be carried off. As most have said however the weekly pill container's work just fine.

The plastic containers with the days of the week have worked for my husband in the past. His of course were basically maintenance meds (blood pressure, acid reflux meds). If we were to have to take prescribed narcotics, I would leave them in their original bottle.

You may get by with a pill organizer but the only correct answer is to have them in their prescription bottles. Some med, especially controlled substances are illegal to possess without a prescription so if questioned that must be proven.

I always take pills aboard in the plastic weekly containers. However, in my wallet I carry a list of my medications, what the daily dose is, and the name and phone no. of the prescribing physician.

You will not have a problem.

I always take the weekly pill holder, never an issue. I have never seen anyone being stopped to take out their meds. I can't imagine the screeners asking you to take them out and provide proof of what they actually are. There is a good probability, most of the cruise population are on one kind of medication or another.

If they really need to know what the pills are, each one has an identifier on them.
