topnole Posted April 15, 2018 #52 Share Posted April 15, 2018 Tnx for the review. We had Smitha a while back and again soon and I know there have been some changes. I’m curious, you mentioned dry cleaning? Is that included? Did you try chefs table? Was room service food ok? Seems like it was always just ok maybe due to how long it takes to deliver to the aqua suites (it gets cold, soggy, etc.) Were you able to see the 70s party from the rising tide or did you have to move to the front and stand? We did this last time and she had never had that request before but as I recall once the party started everyone stood up and we couldn’t see anything. We got the idea from friends we met on harmony but their rising tide bar had bar stools right up front so it is laid out different. I read another review that said Smitha reserves them seats in front of the pub for the 70s party. We debated getting your suite but went with the 2br ATS because it was surprisingly a lot cheaper. I think I’m really glad I did. The balconies are to die for in an ATS and I much prefer a view of the shows on one side and total privacy on the Oceanside vs a view of the sports courts. But we do love deck 17. Pros and cons to each.
reallyitsmema Posted April 15, 2018 #53 Share Posted April 15, 2018 They may provide an option for those walking off early. Maybe stanmelb can confirm with the concierges this week. If that is the case then an 11 flight should work. Just make sure you pick an early shuttle service. Sent from my iPhone using Forums Thanks for the great review. Think we are going to skip the cheap flights and jump airline for a 1:20pm flight. Not worth stressing out over the small price difference. Do you know if Coastal Kitchen was open on disembark day for breakfast?

kalaniiwow Posted April 15, 2018 #57 Share Posted April 15, 2018 Very interesting review :D I will never be able to afford Star class but I do love Oasis ships! Sounds like you had a (mostly) wonderful cruise. :)
irishgal432 Posted April 15, 2018 Author #58 Share Posted April 15, 2018 We had Smitha a while back and again soon and I know there have been some changes. I’m curious, you mentioned dry cleaning? Is that included? YES Dry Cleaning is included. You just have to make sure you fill out the form and not put it in the general laudry bag. Did you try chefs table? NO. We had done it before. I am not a big wine drinker and there is a 25.00 Upcharge for the wine. Judging by the empty bottles on the table, there was a lot of wine consumed. Was room service food ok? Seems like it was always just ok maybe due to how long it takes to deliver to the aqua suites (it gets cold, soggy, etc.) Weird about the room service. The food was okay, we had sushi, Vintages and breakfast. It wasn't the hottest but it wasn't the coldest. I would ask how long it would take and I could never get an answer. One time we were on the balcony waiting and the girl had to call us to get let in. Smitha did say to call her after room service so she could stay on top of it. There is a special number to call for room service. I found if you order ahead of time for a specific time, it works out so much better, We ordered vintages before we got off the boat and had it delivery for 4pm. I think that is the key. Were you able to see the 70s party from the rising tide or did you have to move to the front and stand? We did this last time and she had never had that request before but as I recall once the party started everyone stood up and we couldn’t see anything. We got the idea from friends we met on harmony but their rising tide bar had bar stools right up front so it is laid out different. I read another review that said Smitha reserves them seats in front of the pub for the 70s party. YES She saved us 2 seats up front. The Dj was set up so no one could get up front. There was one group that did come and stand in front of me but I could still see the party since I was up dancing anyway. I think harmony has chairs and tables versus bar tops and stools. We had 1718 which is the oceanview side versus the sports court/side ocean view. I could see the flowrider and golf course if I looked over the side, but I could hear them. There is no way I would ever have the sports court facing one. Some people like it, but it was way too loud and no privacy. We have an A1 on Harmony in September so it will be interesting to see the comparsion of noise and views. I did see the A1 after we got on board before we went to our room and it is a long walk if you forget something or want to pop out for anything. 17 is much more convenient and we could go out to CK/Suite Lounge and go back to the room very quickly. molly361 Posted April 15, 2018 #61 Share Posted April 15, 2018 We walked past all the suite folks this morning in the Champagne Bar waiting to be escorted off the ship. It sounds like there is no earlier walk offs for Sky class who use self assist. That said we were just about half way home before they got off
topnole Posted April 15, 2018 #62 Share Posted April 15, 2018 double post We did a CL on the Harmony and loved deck 17. We have also done a deck 8 as well as 11 ATS previously on oasis so we know that walk but we don’t mind it much. The only downsides to the ATS is it is further from the elevators and far from the SL/CK but that matters less when star class as they load you drinks in your cabin and all kinds of food is available for delivery. Also on deck you have a suite attendant. In the ATS you are the only suite for your attendant. They seemed a bit more busy as the ATS is a big cabin to deal with on top of a bunch of regular cabins. And the Loft hallways are much nicer than deck 8,9, or 10. I think you will like your ATS balcony much better. You can watch the shows or go on the ocean side for privacy and quiet. irishgal432 Posted April 15, 2018 Author #63 Share Posted April 15, 2018 Thanks. We have never had a GS before so lots of newbie questions.:D You will love it. FYI, there is a seperate bathroom on the Suite Sundeck and cold towels behind the bar. They also have fruit cups and chips and fresh fruit flavored water up there.:)

CruiszBug Posted April 15, 2018 #65 Share Posted April 15, 2018 Do they not have an assistant like on Deck 17? Our experience was on Oasis of the Seas. There was no assistant. And the room attendant has other staterooms in addition to the ATS Suite.
STANMELB Posted April 16, 2018 #66 Share Posted April 16, 2018 Sailing on the Oasis this week. As with our previous sailings in a Crown Loft our stateroom attendant has an assistant.
TheInnocentAge Posted April 16, 2018 #67 Share Posted April 16, 2018 Day 3 Jamaica We had Smitha book a Montego Bay snorkeling excursion with Royal for us. It was a 45 minute bus ride to the boat and then we had about a two hour snorkeling and eco tour. This is the first time I had been away from Falmouth and it was beautiful. The boat and crew was friendly and they had some Jamaican patties for lunch. Then another 45 minute ride back. Great review! We have a Star Class cabin booked on Symphony in December. For your excursion, was that included in the free Start Class perks or are they the normal excursion prices? I don't recall seeing that those were included, but just wanted to check. Thanks again! Thanks for posting this. We were debating booking one of the “single wide” Crown lofts facing the sports court, but my husband was convinced it would be too noisy. Irishgal, you think it was especially loud due to the number of kids on board that week?
irishgal432 Posted April 16, 2018 Author #70 Share Posted April 16, 2018 I do think it was a little louder especially at night on the put put course due to the kids. The music would be the same no matter what. We had an L2 once as well and it was loud as well with little privacy. I would prefer the L1 Sent from my iPhone using Forums

One thing I didn't think about being included was the Vitality Spa Cafe. Are the juices and smoothies included with star class?

topnole Posted April 17, 2018 #74 Share Posted April 17, 2018 Do they not have an assistant like on Deck 17? I don’t think they do. But when we wanted the ATS windows cleaned b/c they were so salty a team came that day to knock it out (there are a lot of windows). They do get help. You will love the harmony suite sun deck btw. It has a hot tub on the bar side and double bed type loungers. My wife loved them. The suite lounge bar however is not as nice as oasis. It is much smaller (like 6-8 bar stools) and faces the back (aft) wall as opposed to the windows and the pool. Still nice but I like oasis better for the SL bar.
