Musings on Mariner - A slow boat from China

Recommended Posts

How often are they changing the ship's time?
Tonight will be 3rd time. Always at night. 1 hour after Phuket, 90 minutes before Cochin, and 90 again the night after Goa. Seems to be working well

We received this letter on day 2, not sure why it wasn't in the cabin on day 1

Tons of overflow space, 4 drinks instead of 3, and one free speciality coffee.

Downside for some is no D+ in the CL.

Overall a good solution in my book

Fascinating, how each ship is their own island. So to speak.

Apparently there is a white zin cheaper than Beringer. Laura is not pleased. The casino has a supply of Beringer reserved for her. [emoji6]

They also have imitation Bailey's. It's not bad.

As I mentioned earlier, Dragons Lair closing tonight. This is probably the first venue impacted by the upcoming drydock. The other work going on is installing scrubbers, and removing Golden Room (VIP gambling venue). There is also a VIP area in the casino, but it's not being used.

We've been having Indian dishes since Cochin. Unfortunately, I seem to be missing one. Also, the Concierge has a menu with Lobster on it. I'm not holding my breath.

Not happy with the horizontal layout, not sure I remember it like this in 20085b10aa6a39581b510cce0eb91fa05a30.jpg

Also, surprised to see flat tops on the elevator lobby trash cans. Used to seeing sloped tops.

Mariner allowed the D+ BOGO to be used any night as long as you paid for an open reservation on the first two nights.

We did Chops last night. $35 cover and they had a massive bone in Rib Eye. Still need to do Giovanni

Interesting. Mariner currently has Giovanni? Post dry dock it'll be Jamies. Wish the former as I keep hearing really good things about Giovanni's (but both our booked cruises have Jamies)
