cruisegal415 Posted April 19, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2018 DH and I will be celebrating our 32 anniversary during our cruise on the Getaway in August. We like to cruise on our anniversary week and have been able to do that a few times. Which specialty restaurant do you recommend we go to on the actual anniversary date for a more special night? Or should we just do the MDR? If it matters, it would be on a Thursday, we leave Honduras at 4 pm that day. This is our first NCL cruise so not familiar with the choices. Thanks. Rare PTC DAWG Posted April 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2018 La Cucina or Cagney's would be my choice...a quick google will turn up their menu's....oh yeah, Happy Anniversary this August..congrats on 32..
gmbhardy Posted April 19, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2018 My first choice would be either Le Bistro or Ocean Blue followed by La Cucina. We just haven’t had any luck at Cagney’s. I guess it depends on what cuisine you enjoy - Italian, seafood, steak etc.
krazykohns Posted April 19, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 19, 2018 Congrats on your anniversary! My husband and I are celebrating our 10th in September on the Getaway. We’re thinking Ocean Blue or Cagneys ourselves. Look forward to hearing where you pick!
roger001 Posted April 20, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 20, 2018 I think we've done 3 anniversaries on cruises. We've dined in Le Bistro each time. We like that. However, Le Bistro is small on the Getaway for the number of passengers. So make a reservation early if you use it.
bbryan5 Posted April 20, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 20, 2018 I have eaten at just about every specialty restaurant NCL offers.. Le Bistro would hands down be my choice.
Rare BirdTravels Posted April 20, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 20, 2018 Go to Le Bistro. Let the hostess know it is your anniversary dinner. I hate the way Ocean Blue is not physically isolated from the bar, which is often full of obnoxious party goers. Not very romantic.
leaclingman Posted April 20, 2018 #8 Share Posted April 20, 2018 You know, we didn't go to Ocean Blue this 2nd time on Getaway as the first time wasn't all that great. My husband still jokes about the "charred", i.e. burnt, broccoli. Kinda funny. My personal favorite is Le Bistro, but I did write up an extensive review of the Getaway, including food pictures and menu pictures, so you're welcome to take a look to see what looks good. here is the link: https://gotravellife.com/2018/01/03/about-us/ and Happy Anniversary!! Enjoy.
escentialssoycandles Posted April 20, 2018 #9 Share Posted April 20, 2018 Having sailed Getaway twice with SDP on both, we went to all of the specialties. I would say for a special dinner I would go in this order. Le Bistro is the coziest but it also depends if you like French Cuisine. Cagneys Le Bistro Ocean Blue Moderno Tappenyaki La Cucina

Rare Traveling Fools Posted May 5, 2018 #12 Share Posted May 5, 2018 Find out if they are offering a"Chef's Table" dinner. If, tell them about your anniversary, and perhaps they might be able to accommodate you. (Chef's Table is limited to 12 passengers, cost extra, and includes wine pairing. We have done it twice, including our 40th anniversary.)
