smplybcause Posted April 23, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2018 Depends on if there's two embarking points or not. But its on deck 6 in the second atrium across from le bistro and below the casino. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

In Miami your boarding pass said terminal B or C. No option to choose. One was bow, one was aft. I went up to 8 for oshehans so I can't say for sure as I don't fully remember, but I think the aft entrance was just in front of the second/678 atrium so you'd need to go left on both... and I think down a level. Damn, unless it docks on a different side, dammit. It's towards the aft whichever side... so if the bow if is to your right when you enter go left and visa versa. Mom2B&Z Posted April 23, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 23, 2018 I’ve never been on Escape but can help with the terminal in NYC. If you want to be first on the ship, be there earlier than 9am. We’ve arrived as early as 8:30am and still not been first in line. You will need an early boarding number, which means getting there early. Breakaway used two boarding locations within the same terminal, one is at the front and one is at the back. It was based on what deck you cabin was located, so we probably won’t know what the set up is for Escape until you board this week. Ask for help and follow directions, the fellow making announcements can sound terse to me, but he’s very efficient and knows what he’s trying to accomplish to make the process go smoothly. Enjoy Escape! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Rare BirdTravels Posted April 23, 2018 #8 Share Posted April 23, 2018 need a map from embarkation toHeadliners. Lol. Looking like no live review for Escape inaugural NYC so is the Breakaway layout the same that you could explain. Really needing: Easiest way to run from point A to point B? Our time is 9:30 on the boarding passes.....pretty sure me and my sneakers are gonna be there at 9 and run! Hubby is directionally challenged...so he will follow lol. The layout is basically the same. 9:30 is the time you requested to arrive at the terminal. It is NOT a boarding time. Show up earlier than 9:30. Depending on your cabin number, you will be directed to either the check in as soon as you get past security or the one all the way in the back of the terminal. After you check in, you can sit near any boarding door. NY is unique in that in addition to the Haven, Ambassador, Platinum Plus, and Platinum priority boarder, Casino guests are the first to board after Haven. That could be another 100-200 early boarders prior to general boarding. The Escape is the same as the Breakaway. If you board at either the forward or aft lobby, go down the steps to deck 6. If you board in the middle (O’shehans) use the center glass stairs in the Casio and move aft through the atrium to headliners.

Rare mking8288 Posted April 23, 2018 #10 Share Posted April 23, 2018 Escape is new to NYC as this season's homeport ... they might do things a little differently, but ... some general info/guidelines from recent sailings with Breakaway & Gem, and, we will be boarding the Gem soon to get a sense of the drills for 2018. For last several years, CAS seemed to boarded ahead of Latitude Platinum/Gold, however, that changed in 2017 on several sailings that we know of, where CAS followed Ambassadors, Pluses & then Platinum - once they took care of Haven guests with the escorts out of the private lounge. Day guests (wedding parties) and Special Needs also - sometimes - get to board first, alas, they typically won't be running for Vibe passes, me think. Pier 88 has 2 long "Z" gangways - boarding should put you on the landings on Deck 7, good possibility from the FWD starboard area ... AFT gangway was designated for Havens & special needs only (disembark & embarkation) Given the similar layouts, you best bet is once on deck, find the Fwd staircase, walk down (1 level if on 7 to deck 6) to your destination. Elevators will typically be packed, crowded & full, some are reserved ... On arrival time, you can show up at 8 am and wait for hours, there is NO way to be absolutely sure of getting a low boarding # from the pier staff doing the screening/check-in, unless you are in Haven, suite, VIP, Special Needs, and Latitudes (Amb, Plus & Platinum, etc.) There is a recent post from the Gem by someone who got there at 9:30, got #22 or something, ship was late ... and did not get onboard until past 2 PM - a case of YMMV. If you get a higher # card, ask nicely if you can get a lower # card - worst is s/he say "no" When we checked in last year, the agent joked that 20% of the ship (Gem) were like CAS guests, hence - it explained that a huge section inside was set aside for them ... it looked certain to me that there're easily 150 to 200+ sitting there due to our sailing's "slightly" delayed boarding. The Latitude area was just across, roped off and there're no more than 75 at boarding time, following Special Needs ... before CAS were given the go ahead (following) It was the same sequence in boarding orders on the Breakaway last Fall - if you have "dual status" or multiple status, advantage is yours to find out, ask while checking in ... if and only if those working in the terminal know. One of my BIL/SIL are sailing this Sunday on the Escape - they aren't running for Vibe but will definitely board early being Platinum ... assuming ship is early/on-time for turnaround. My understanding, indirectly, is that there could be a good # of CAS guests sailing this month due to promotional partnerships with land-based casinos ... good luck. dacsmom Posted April 23, 2018 #12 Share Posted April 23, 2018 If you lose Hubby what will you do if you get a pass and he does not? Vibe passes are under the stairs right across from Le Bistro. When you printed out your boarding pass didn't it have a Terminal letter on it? Sorry, I am used to boarding in Miami, and they have Terminal B or C printed on the boarding pass so you knew where to go when you got to the port. New York, NY 10019 Which is pier 88 In NYC they seem to board by deck, doesn't matter if your cabin in aft, mid or forward. Twice on the BA we had deck 14 (Spa Cabin Forward), Even numbers boarded Aft Odd board forward
kcdancerkc Posted April 23, 2018 Author #16 Share Posted April 23, 2018 Trying to get vibe....wont leave hubby in the dust lol.... I think it is a chance to get away from the masses and hot tubs are my jam lol. No way to know till we get there as previous poster points out that you do not know where you board until you get there....if we don’t get it, will spend more time on the aft-ish balcony on floor 13 starboard side. As well as save $200  Thanks!
dacsmom Posted April 24, 2018 #17 Share Posted April 24, 2018 I love the Vibe passes and hope you succeed in your quest. To me they were so worth the money when I would leave and look at the other decks with people inches away from each other. The cookies, fruit skewers, and personal bar service was wonderful. janvincenzo@yahoo.com Posted May 23, 2018 #18 Share Posted May 23, 2018 Pay someone in the ADA waiting are to go to the Vibe pass desk and hold passe for you! HA HA HA. If anyone on my sailing in a few weeks wants a Vibe pass look me up. IMHO the Vibe is very highly over rated. We're going in September 2018 and will want to get into the Vibe.
