DevonianCruiser Posted May 13, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2018 Hi We’re going to book our next cruise through a U.S. travel agent or with RC direct. My understanding is if there’s a price drop and you’re already booked you can get it? Or upgrade maybe? We can’t do that in the U.K. so can someone explain how it works? Many thanks. Ourusualbeach Posted May 13, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 13, 2018 As long as you are before Rotals final payment you can call to get a price drop. If you booked through a TA then you must call the TA as Royal won’t talk to you. After final payment you may be able to upgrade if the cabin category above yours drops in price. Saab4444 Posted May 13, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 13, 2018 From the UK or Europe you are not allowed to book directly with Royal in the US. You have to go via a US travel agent who does it for you. Sent from my iPad using Forums
BlueSkySailing Posted May 13, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 13, 2018 One more thing you should check is that the TA you use does price drops and if they do. Check to make sure it doesn't change perks they may offer you. Happy Sailing!!!!
Rare little britain Posted May 13, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 13, 2018 Yes, if there is a price drop it should be passed on. Some exclusions such as specials for new bookings only. USA also has 2 sorts of deposit. Non Refundable Deposits will usually have slightly lower pricing, and some obc but if you change ship/ date then there is $100pp penalty and you get the rest of the deposit back $300 as a FCC to use against the new cruise. The other sort are fully refundable if you cancel. Enjoy planning your Vacation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Biker19 Posted May 13, 2018 #6 Share Posted May 13, 2018 From the UK or Europe you are not allowed to book directly with Royal in the US. You can, if you are willing to make up a US address.

If you are booked under US rules then yes, you are entitled to the lower price should the price fall. However it IS NOT automatic - YOU must track the price and call to get the lower price. If using a travel agent, you would have to call them and ask them to call Royal (most TAs don’t have the time to track prices for all of their bookings, so make sure you watch prices on your own). Should the price of a higher category fall enough to be the same cost as what you’ve already paid, you can also move into that category room at no cost instead of taking a price drop. You can do this as many times as you wish as long as the final payment date has not passed. Even if you have paid the cruise in full prior to final payment date, you may still get the lower pricing. There are a few exceptions to this - some sale prices are for new bookings only (Going, Going, Gone sale the most common).
CeCe_ Posted May 13, 2018 #9 Share Posted May 13, 2018 Price adjustment only available when your cabin category is still available at a lower price or better promotion. If all sold out, you can't get any lower than what you got.

If all sold out, you can't get any lower than what you got. Then I was very luck with my price adj. We are sailing in the Royal Suite and saw the price for the Owner Suite, Grand Suite, and Junior Suite all dropped $50pp. I called up just to see and they gave me a $200 price adj. It was very easy but they had to transferred me to the Casino Royal sales rep. because I have a OBC through them.
gerelmx Posted May 13, 2018 #11 Share Posted May 13, 2018 After final payment you may be able to upgrade if the cabin category above yours drops in price. You can do it if your cabin category is at higher or same price as. We was denied the upgrade because our CAT was selling higher than we booked although higher categories were cheaper than ours.
