SRF Posted July 29, 2018 #76 Share Posted July 29, 2018 I play for fun. I figure a ticket for a day to Disney is $100, so my gambling budget is $100 per day. If I win, I can keep playing. If I lose that, I stop for the day and do other things. The lowest house odds are, if you play smart, craps and blackjack. Every other game, the house will just take your money faster. Yes, one some games people hit big, but they also lose a lot.
PigsCanFly Posted July 29, 2018 #77 Share Posted July 29, 2018 I dont think I've been on a Royal ship where Royal flush pays higher than straight flush. But then I dont play the 4th spot. Just blind on bonus, ante, and bet. 5-10-10 Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk The Royal pays 1000:1 on the 6-card bonus The Straight Flush pays 200:1 on the 6-card bonus (We were betting $10 on the 6-card bonus)

drsel Posted July 29, 2018 #80 Share Posted July 29, 2018 (edited) WHICH cruise ships give FREE DRINKS in the CASINO and what is their RATIONALE for selecting which gamblers are entitled to the free drinks? Those who play for many hours in 1 session, those who faithfully gamble every night, those who win the most or those who lose the most? On our last Norwegian cruise, I saw the same gamblers playing for hours every night without fail, and not getting a single free drink. Even on Celebrity and MSC I didn't see anyone getting free drinks just for gambling in the casino. Also, what is the rationale for gifts, bonuses and free cruise certificates? What are these gifts and bonuses? Edited July 29, 2018 by drsel

Clarea Posted July 29, 2018 #83 Share Posted July 29, 2018 To all the players or a select few? I believe you have to play a while and accumulate some certain number of points before you get free drinks.
Rare John&LaLa Posted July 29, 2018 #84 Share Posted July 29, 2018 The casino host and give out drink vouchers. Not free drinks like Vegas, but still free. Not anymore, now your seapass either has your casino tier printed on it, or the host gives you a VIP sticker. Your tier is calculated once a year and you have to qualify for the levels with free booze. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

sellwingri Posted July 29, 2018 #86 Share Posted July 29, 2018 My understanding is that if you accumulate 1000 points on a cruise, they’ll give you the sticker entitling you to free drinks. Not sure what they do if you go on another cruise before the tier recalculation is done on April 1st. I’ve been gambling on Royal Caribbean for many years and never remember them giving out coupons for drinks.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums Not necessarily, that's probably why the host has stickers. I guess if you hit the points required for a top tier you can qualify then. The yearly mark is probably used to demote players who dont keep their level of play up. Maybe C&A needs to do that. Rare mk-ultra Posted July 29, 2018 #88 Share Posted July 29, 2018 I'm almost a 100% table games player (with some small slot playing just when I'm taking a break). Points tracking can be very hit-or-miss at table games. They'll definitely card you in when you sit down to buy in and count you when you color out. I play ~4 hours a night. For what it's worth, getting to know the dealers and casino host early seems to work out for being tracked better on my play. I'm usually on a first name basis with most of them at the end of my first night on a cruise.
Rare mk-ultra Posted July 29, 2018 #89 Share Posted July 29, 2018 BJ - only sit down if players are their, if rooks, dont play, always ruin the flow...take when they shouldnt, or hold when they shouldnt, messes the flow... I love quotes like this one... and the players at a table who think that someone else has "sabotaged" their hand by making a bad play and "taking" their card. kcamp317 Posted July 29, 2018 #91 Share Posted July 29, 2018 My wife enjoys getting into the blackjack tournaments and I think last month on our cruise she came out $60 ahead. Thats about the extent of our winning....I just stand back and watch....haha. I don't bother because my luck stinks at such things.

Yeap, and just as often, their play makes you win a hand you would have lost if they played "right." Statistical analysis shows it all works out to be even. Play your hand and don't worry about how others play.

Rare John&LaLa Posted July 30, 2018 #96 Share Posted July 30, 2018 You can still earn the free drink sticker during the year on a cruise ship. Not sure if it's 1000 points or 1200 points but have been told they still do it. The Club Royale tier part is just something extra they do now as another part of their program.Correct, but the punchcards/tickets seem to be gone Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Domino D Posted July 30, 2018 #100 Share Posted July 30, 2018 So, I thought it begged the question: Has anyone who gambles a lot on the ship's table games ever come out ahead? Honestly, sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. Do you consider 2 hrs a night average a lot?
