Five years is a long way to go back through the annals of CC to excavate something to comment on. Are you an archaeologist as well as an Ambassador? 😁 Ya I know it was an old thread but I didn't see anywhere else for Ambassadors to chat, and I wanted to let the upcoming AMB that while not perfect the free cruise is a nice perk.

I am Platinum now and Ambassador is many many moons away for me. However, I just got off the Joy. I went to buy my CN and had my 4-year old with me. The CN rep made a comment about my son getting his status at 18 and I said yes he’ll definitely be Platinum or higher by then! (He’s actually already got Gold-level points based on triple points on our two cruises this year.) The man then told us the youngest Ambassador in the program was onboard our cruise—23 years old 😮! That is correct, I have a friend at NCL who works as a future cruise consultant and when I made it at age 58 I asked him if I was the youngest to make it and he explained not even close. That a kid had been traveling with his parent for years and he received the nights from his parent's cruise that he was the youngest one. He also said as of last year there were 104 Ambassadors in the world last June. I'm sure there are a few more now.

Four to five years ago, there're about 40'ish, maybe 50+ Latitudes Ambassadors in the program and the numbers reduced to 30'ish in 2019, from my recollection. During the our recent TA, there're some onboard (as usual, always on the move & cruising) and the rank had grown significantly to 300'ish - per CruiseNext, probably boosted by the double & triple points to leap forward.

Is this true ?

dexddd Posted July 18, 2023 #32 Share Posted July 18, 2023 Under the change about six years ago, the minor will have to turn 18 and take a sailing to get perks on the next sailing.

Cruiseguy14 Posted October 19, 2023 #34 Share Posted October 19, 2023 I heard that everyone in your cabin gets the points and they are good for life. If that is true my daughter has 140 points and she is 3. If she keeps on this pace she will be ambassador before 10. As long as ncl stays in business. 🙂
Rare Anoynmous Phoenix Posted October 19, 2023 #35 Share Posted October 19, 2023 In answer to the question posed; both my wife and I are Ambassadors. We didn't start cruising till we were 70 and it took 10 years including two Covid years with no cruising. We have 6 cruises booked followed by our two "free" ones. So still going strong.
Cruiseguy14 Posted October 19, 2023 #36 Share Posted October 19, 2023 Depending on what cruise you take it’s not that hard. I got 60 points for one 15 day cruise
TROGON Posted June 30 #37 Share Posted June 30 Here is one to ponder......Which Hotel Director, on which ship, treats Ambassadors the best?
Rare www3traveler Posted June 30 #38 Share Posted June 30 14 minutes ago, TROGON said: Here is one to ponder......Which Hotel Director, on which ship, treats Ambassadors the best? I would think that it would depend on each individual Ambassador passenger. Some are much more pushy ("Look at me Look at me"), than others. If you treat staff fairly, they will take you fairly. In theory it should make no difference ship to ship, General Manager to General Manager. 2

As long as we're reopening old threads to ponder, ponder this: It isn't how a General Manager treats Haven Guests (who paid for the treatment) or high-level Latitude guests (who earned the treatment) it is really how they treat everyone else. Show me a General Manager who treats guests in Steerage well, and I'll show you a future VP.
TROGON Posted July 2 #40 Share Posted July 2 Two very good answers. The staff certainly deserves great treatment. Just wondering if any managers have impressed you with their courtesy in the past.

TROGON Posted July 3 #42 Share Posted July 3 We have had great experiences with both Alain Magnier (Dawn) and Nelson Matins (Viva). Next question.... What did you pick for your Ambassador cruise? We chose a Caribbean cruise as part of a B2B (Viva) and the Hawaiian cruise (Pride of America). We've always enjoyed the itineraries offered by NCL. Been sailing with them since 1997. GORDONCHICK Posted July 4 #43 Share Posted July 4 Not an ambassador, but we've been treated great by many - most of whom are retired now. Some have been promoted wayyyyy up the food chain. Sean Wurmeringer, Denis Prguda, Alain Magnier. I miss Yannis Kazalis, who is now with MSC.
Rare Anoynmous Phoenix Posted July 4 #44 Share Posted July 4 Steven Jacobson on the Pride where we took our two Ambassador cruises. We have a saying in New Zealand:- He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tāngata! He tāngata! He tāngata! (What is the most important thing in all the world? The people; The people, The people. Steven embodies that in every facet of his work, when he was on the Jewel and now on the Pride. Talk to the officers who have worked with him, to crew who have been led by him and passengers on the two ships where he has been GM!!
rscales2 Posted July 4 #45 Share Posted July 4 I’m one point away from Ambassador. I was told by someone who is an Ambassador that the taxes, ports fees and the free at sea are your responsibility. I personally think you shouldn’t be responsible for the taxes and ports fees .

I don't book anything but the cheapest cruises, pick up a lot of last minute, and don't even have 10 that were double points for early booking. I sail NCL for the itinerary and price. I've sailed all the major cruise lines, with over 170 cruises, total for me. I'm delighted with Platinum + benefits, but frankly- I'd prefer a price drop. 🙂 I only cruise for where it takes me, I don't care about the ship. I'm fortunate to be able to enjoy the world travel. I have 3 Transatlantic cruise for 2025 all very cheap. I’m one point from Ambassador. I have the second highest status on Carnival. I haven’t been on Carnival in years. They used to have a great rate for their lowest cabin. They eliminated it. NCL has become expensive. I think I’m going to try MSC.

Talk to the officers who have worked with him, to crew who have been led by him and passengers on the two ships where he has been GM!! Steven always impressed me. The personal memory of me as a past passenger and my home town Canadian football team was incredible to me. On a cruise about ten years ago, I remember seeing him as he walked along a hallway and saw a coffee cup that someone had left sitting in a window well on the Jewel, and seeing him pick it up reverse direction and take it to the atrium cafe, then go back along his way. It isn't a hard thing, but taking that little time to do a small task left an impression on me. As a result of his work, I've always felt a fond connection to the Jewel and all her crew. I know that Steven is no longer there, but I have booked two cruises on the Jewel next year and memories of Steven and the wonderful crew is a big reason for my choice. I hope he is doing well, and enjoying life.
Rare Anoynmous Phoenix Posted July 26 #50 Share Posted July 26 @KDebreuil I hope he is doing well, and enjoying life. We were on the Pride with him May this year. He his now part time just doing the relief job on the Pride and loving it. He is away from home for the periods that are not as good as the ones when he is there. He certainly seemed to be loving life and was a "box of birds".
