The dock packed away much better than it came out this morning! Apparently the motor failed but they didnt have big enough boats to tow it out!

It was good that the captain sent out a tender boat to help!

Also - big hugs to the peeps who's train broke down - which would have meant them missing the departure time! Cool that the ship waited!!!

Must see you for a beer in Syds tomorrow :D:D:D:D

Just had a fun experience at the noodle bar. First time I’ve been, or at least first time I’ve attempted to go, but Sue commented earlier that the host is rather stern.

Fast forward 2 minutes and a few interactions later, and Cam and I leave the others behind. On the way out I stop by the host stand to inform him that his attitude sucks.

So now Cam and I are seated at Taste/Savor.

Ran up to the room for some cash, buzzed casino cage to break it, then hit a roadblock on the way back down to Howl.

We need a ship design with a false set of stairs for picture taking, so all other stairs can be used for... uh, stairs.

Hi Doug and Sue. I have never met you but followed you on Bliss TA because I was going on the P Canal on May 10. I loved the Bliss enough but I agree the Escape is a bit nicer.

So I was wondering the other day if you were on your next cruise with family and I discovered this thread.

Wow since I am sailing on Aug 11th out of Copenhagen ( but on Serenade of the Seas). It is doing 8 days Norway and then another one to Baltic area. Basically doing B2B.

I am staying in a Scandic hotel also near the train station and I did not have any plans to do Tivioli Gardens. But now I might change my mind. However, I am coming back in May 2019 for the Getaway cruise and can do the things in Copenhagen I did not get a chance to do this year. Sounds like a great city.

I loved your photos of Tallinn and St Pete's Russia. I will only be in Russia one day and will do the ship's tour so I can get back. Also sounds like your stop in Germany was pretty good.

Question; In using a regular credit card(not debit) does one have to have a pin number for just purchases? I don't need cash but have heard for even purchases one might need a pin #.

Sorry to hear about your mom, but at least it provides us with this wonderful thread!!!!!. Hoping your Dad can enjoy without his wife. I do chuckle that you wear out Sue too much. Thanks for the breakfast tips as well for other choice besides the buffet.

I suggest your family come on the Getaway next May 24 from Copenhagen that does Norway and Iceland and 2 stops in Scotland. Then I can meet you and Sue and or any meet and greets. I have yet to do those. And your mom should come too. Safe trip home to Rochester and I guess another detox is waiting for you.

.

Usually you don't need a pin. I've been using a credit card in Europe for years and have never had a problem. The one place I did have was in Palma de Mallorca and I was trying to use my card for the parking garage payment. It wouldn't take, luckily I did have enough Euros to cover it.

I would be more carefull with an unprotected CC than one that requires a pin #. I have 1 of each... one card, if purchase is less than $50, no pin is required, the other, a pin is required for any purchase outside my home country.

IMO a pin should be set up for any CC with a max of $3000 or more since that amount can be stolen easily.

Someone tried to steal $3000 on my CC, however, they didn't use the correct pin # so it was declined.

Nothing wrong with using more protection on a CC. JMO.

Travel safe.

Loving your trip—my DH and I will be on the Getaway in 2 weeks. This trip has been on our wish list—after reading and viewing your photos (my iPhone takes crappy photos—yours look great!)—we will be visiting the Cruise Next desk! Hope your mom is feeling better—bet she shared the photos with everyone!!

I live in the UK and almost always need a PIN, except for purchases of less than £30 where they have contact-less card machines (Not all businesses do). I travel a lot in Europe and frequently need to use my pin.

I'm always amazed when I'm not asked to use my pin or provide ID when shopping in the US

My advice is get a PIN, what harm can it do?

First time at O’She’s for the week... is that possible?!?

This has obviously been more of an itinerary-focused trip vs. the ship itself. I’m thankful we get to go play on the Bliss again in less than 3 months. I miss my Brew House!

Nahhh.... that's a poor imitation, no poppy seed bun, no celery salt, what should be sport peppers look like jalapenos, and where's the dill pickle wedge? Oh for the very old hot dog thread to be resurrected!! That was a great one!

Yeah. Not a Chicago Dog. Not at all. And either there's a criminal amount of mustard or there's cheese on it which is almost as bad as the ultimate sin, Ketchup.
